Lyrics

There's something I must tell you girl, and I don't have too much time.
I stayed up all last night just to find a witty line.
And I know what I'm gonna say weighs so heavy on my mind,
But to leave without a word would be unfair.
So, please don't you cry. For if you do so will I.
'Cause I'm leaving and I'm never turning back.

Chorus:

And I know this love can be happily concluded when I leave you on the morning train,
And I feel it's been too much for me to stay by your side my love,
And all those bitter tears are just a pain.

Verse II

In the musty coffeehouses we would sing our songs.
You'd be off stage starry-eyed helping me along,
But as the fire of love burned on it left me in the light
Like a beam of sunshine piercing through the night.
And though it hurts to think that I could leave,
This loner heart I can't decieve,
And I know it's time for us to part.

Chorus:

And I know this love can be happily concluded when I leave you on the morning train,
And I feel it's been too much for me to stay by your side my love,
And all those bitter tears are just a pain.

Verse III

Can't you understand that I am still in love with you?
And you say that it hurts so much, well you know it hurts me too.
I just wish that I could sing a sweet love melody
That you could remember and treasure in your heart.
But time presses on, and I know I must be gone.
So, goodbye my love it's time for us to part.

Chorus:

And I know this love can be happily concluded when I leave you on the morning train,
And I feel it's been too much for me to stay by your side my love,
And all those bitter tears are just a pain. And all those bitter tears are just a pain
