CHILD OF HOPE

Story Behind The Song

Written in memory especially of Princess Diana

Song Description

Started writing this song a few days after watching Princess Diana's funeral on BBC/CNN with my mind still fresh with the sequence of events at Westminster Abbey especially Sir Elton John's rendition of 'Candle in the wind',hence the incidence of "candle" in the chorus .All this coupled with the thought of Mother Teresa who breathed her last here in India on Princess Diana's funeral day contributed towards the subsequent completion of the song .Originally thought this was a Michael Jackson (a la 'Heal the World') type but any good female artiste preferably with just a pinch of R&B vein would ,if you like,do just about enough justice to the song.About the demo - actually,a female voice should be in the demo, but for English songs just about everything is DIY-in-your-bedroom around this part of India .

Lyrics

CHILD OF HOPE

1. Child of hope, child of grace
You lit a thousand suns in our eroded lives
And brightened up the darkest places
Child of joy and timeless love
You were a richness pouring out for all
And it seems to me you were the voice
That cried out in the wilderness of our times
For love and care

Cho: There's no road without a trail
There's no cross without a nail
And the road you chose to show the way
Shall always take us there
And your endless love for the human race
Has no time,has no space
Thru' generations we'll always bear
This fire in our hearts
For we'll always burn your candle till the end.

2. Child of hope, child of grace
With eyes that always saw the truth about us
And gentle hands to cup our griefs
You showed us peace, peace from within your soul
Amidst this world of fuming pain
And it seems to that this world
Was never meant for one as radiant as you
But we needed you

Bridge: You're still the triumph of the day
And may this hope you brought us today
Be a torch we'll always bear
A truth we'll always share
With the fountain of peace that you were
May you always quench our deepest thirsts
May you always be our prayers
And may you always grow in our hearts
Ever more,forever more
