Story Behind The Song
As mentioned in the song description, my goal was to tie my creative worlds of art and music together to create a love song that has personal, and hopefully universal, meaning and appeal.
Song Description
"Paint A Picture" is a song that ties my experiences as a drawing and painting artist together with my songwriting and performance.
I wanted to present strong visuals within the context of the song, with several art-related references like "colors brushed through your hair, clouds in the air". I made direct references to art terms and specific pieces such as "Starry Night" and "Rouen Cathedrals" to help stregthen the visual component.
"Paint a Picture" is, in essence, a love song with very personal connections to my art and music.

Lyrics
PAINT A PICTURE

Intro:
Verse 1:
If I- could capture with paint and paper
Watercolour memories- impressions of our minds
Draw- with curving lines and textures
Can only just resemble- a portrait that we share
So rare to find
Chorus:
If I could paint a picture of you- there?s nothing I?d rather do
With colours brushed through your hair- and clouds in the air
If I could paint a picture today- a thousand words couldn?t say
What I feel inside I know it has to be true
I?d paint a picture of you
Verse 2:
I -have studied history?s masters
Starry nights and still life- recorded for the age
We- like Monet?s Rouen cathedrals
Change colour as the morning- turns to afternoon and then
Turns to night
Chorus:
Bridge:
A thousand words cannot say what?s true
If I could paint a picture of you
