Story Problems

Story Behind The Song

Sitting down on my front porch to write and just listening to all the children in the street play, thinking of little kids in the middle east having to pack guns around for fear of being shot. Thinking about how there are humans out there who have watched their own parents or relatives murdered in cold blood in their presence. Makes me wonder if my thinking really makes any sense.

Song Description

Most people go about their daily tasks with their minds filled with trivial things when compared to issues dealt with by most humans. Things that are very american like: traffic, timelines, work deadlines, birthday presents, etc... We can get so caught up in our little comfort zone, we don't want to be bothered with the fact that there are people at this moment dieing of starvation and rotting away at this very moment. How could anybody ever think that humans are basically good? We are evil and we have proven it over and over again.

Lyrics

It's getting on about 5:15
Summer evening, kids in the street
Playing all the games, they all know
It's easy to say in moment like this
Sitting on my porch with a white picket fence
Life is like a candy kiss

and now I see why people settle down
live out their lives in a quiet little town
working so hard, just to keep a secret

Am I making sense?

I think about all the pain in this world
People dieing with all the pain and the hurt
I wonder what exactly I should do?
I'm a sinner, a sinner on watch
a ticking time bomb on the clock
I light the fuse and watch it burn off

Now I see why people get down
strap a bomb to their chest and head down town
live a holy 20 years just to leave it peaceless, yeah
(we say) no King of us cause we want the crown
there's an anvil in the sky and the storm is comin' round
its gonna wash away all of our riches

Now am I making any sense?
