Very introspective track. Really good both lyrically and musically. Modern sounding, yet I can hear influences of rock icons through the ages, such as Foreigner, Yes, and Emerson Lake and Palmer. I love the shift around the 1:40 mark just as the chorus is kicking in. Really good and professional instrumentation and arrangement.

Lyrics

Land of the Living
Words and Music by Malcolm Todd Sloan of The Woodmen

Verse one
Listen. . . you can hear it breathe
In and out, the rise and fall of belief
Crossroads? gotta make a call
Up or down I rise until I fall (until I fall)
The struggle ? is it worth the pain?
Deliver us from evil, keep us sane

Bridge
I see a sign, a sign a day
You?re miles and miles away
And someone?s gonna pay

Chorus
You want heaven on sight
Save up your money
The preacher don?t teach
No, he?s just talkin? funny
The devil may care
I?ll stay where it?s sunny
In the land of the living

Verse two
Doubters . . . naysayers all
A dime a dozen up against the wall
Believers . . . oh!
Can suffer no loss
Like the price He paid for us up on that Cross

Bridge
I see a sign, a sign a day
That life?s the only way
Oh oh and Lord I wanna say

Chorus
You want heaven on sight,
stop talkin? funny
The preacher don?t teach
No, he just takes your money
The devil may care
I?ll stay where it?s sunny
In the land of the living

Musical Interlude

Chorus (2x)
You want heaven on sight
Save up your money
The preacher don?t teach
No, he?s just talkin? funny
The devil may care
It?s all milk and honey
In the land of the living
