Cry

Words and Music: Lenny Lee / © 2006

verse
Walkin? on this island - it?s one of my creations
begun so long ago
fortresses of fear - no one can find me here
I keep the fires burning low
and now I walk the beaches - drawn to the horizon
tomorrow brings another show
and sometimes I think of you
and I cry

Still looking for traces - in all my hiding places
sometimes I think I?ll never change
seventh wave connection - on seeing my reflection
standing in the pouring rain
and I swear, I heard a voice say ?you don?t have to live this way?
So while I pray for an answer - I stare at the moon

chorus
If I washed up on your shore - would you still be there for me
or have our moments passed away
?cuz when I see you smile
I cry

verse
So tired from the climb - a glimpse of the sublime
is something I may never know
My message in the sand - no one can understand
it?s washed out in the undertow
yes and now that voice is screaming ?you don?t have to live this way?
So now I plead for an answer - and reach for the moon

chorus
If I washed up on your shore - would you still be there for me
or have our moments passed away
?cuz when I see you smile
I cry
