Starlight

Story Behind The Song

Written in the Fall of 2003. With 24 hours of daylight throughout the summer months the dark can be soothing sometimes. It was the first night that it was dark enough to watch the Northern Lights. I tried to create visual imagery with my lyrics. Curtains of light across the sky. Shapes like angels looking down at us.

Lyrics

It's a late November night
A cool crispness is in the air
The sky is filled with light
Enjoy this time that we can share

Land of a billion stars
Looking down on us
Dancing in the wind
Lost in Starlight

The sky is dark once again
Aurora paints lines across the sky
It's good to see you my friend
Angels above begin to sigh

Land of a billion stars
Looking down on us
Dancing in the wind
Lost in Starlight

Shimmering colours in the water
Rivers of light stretch across the sky
All my troubles don't matter
Makes my spirit want to fly

Land of a billion stars
Looking down on us
Dancing in the wind
Lost in Starlight

These marks you made will last forever
You changed my life and touched my heart
These ties we'll never sever
We will never be kept apart

Land of a billion stars
Looking down on us
Dancing in the wind
Lost in Starlight
