Song Description

This is a song intended to help children forget the troubles of their daily lives and just fall into the wonderful land of sleep knowing that they are rightly protected by their parents, home and God.

Story Behind the Song

My four young children have the hardest time falling to sleep at bedtime. It's so hard for them to give up their day and go after the rest they (and I!) so desperately need. It takes lots of reassurance for them to finally close their eyes and "miss" the rest of the day. I like to remind them that there's nothing for them to worry about and that they are protected always by God, me and their Daddy.

Lyrics

Sleep. Sleep.
Let your worries fade away.
Escape from the troubles that clutter your day.
Rest safely in God's loving arms.
Nothing can harm you.
Just sleep. Sleep. Baby, sleep.

Dream. Dream.
Dream of all you want to be,
And fly to those places that you want to see.
Dream of mountains so broad and so tall.
Dream, and you can have it all.
So dream. Dream. Dream.

And I pray as you sleep
that your body grows strong.
May God grant you His grace
to help you along.

Breathe, Breathe.
May each breath be long and deep
for God will protect you as you fall asleep.
Let go of all that you fear.
Comfort is near you.
Just breathe, Breathe, Breathe.

..May God grant you His grace
to help you along.

Sleep. Sleep.
Let the night just slip away.
And let the world take you
to the next bright new day.
Just remember my promise to you:
Just sleep, dream and breathe, my darling,
for I will always love you.
