Story Behind The Song
"Most of my songs are named for something in the environment in which the song was written. In the case of 'Stakeout,' Mike Carubba, John Giardino, Adam Same, and I were working on a musical for Canisius College's Little Theatre. We had just gotten back from Jim's Steakout, one of Buffalo's finest restaurants and one of the reasons why Buffalo has the best food in the nation, and were jamming while we were waiting for the cast to rehearse when this song was born. I laid down the progression and the melody just kind of happened as we were playing. Thus, our trip to Jim's Steakout is immortalized in the song title."
