Mockingbird/Prayer For Pop-Pop

Story Behind The Song

This song is dedicated to our adopted "Pop-Pop", Spencer Stewart, who died of cancer after we'd only known him for 12 years- to us he was the greatest man that ever lived and we will always miss him. The mockingbird followed us around the day after he died sitting within 4 feet of us- we felt and knew it was him telling us that everything would be okay.

Lyrics

Mockingbird- words by Nick Ford, music by Emily Holt C1990
When you're feelin' blue, sit here, remember me and look to the sky. You will see Grey Eagle flying overhead watching over you.
And you will hear me sing to you in a mockingbirds' song; And we will smile together and feel the glory of God
As the warm sunshine fills our hearts with love and we are happy again.......
Prayer For Pop-Pop ( in loving memory of our Pop-Pop)- words and music by The Holt Twins C1990
Chorus:O Bless your name (we pray to you). Sweet Jesus, come to this place. We ask your grace (we pray to you).
Dear Lord, please answer this plea.
1) Only you could help us now (please, we ask you now). With humble hearts we call on you (please, with humble hearts).
We ask the bright glow of your healing light to enter in. Enter in with all your love and touch the sickness away.
2) This man has brought a vineyard to you (please, we need his love). He has been faithful and true, (please, oh, Lord, can't he stay?).
Like you he touches the ones he meets with his love, and as a servant he inspired all to feel your love.
Ending:Only you can help us now (please, we ask you now). (Please) With humble hearts we call on you.
THANK YOU GOD, FOR THE LOVE OF THIS MAN, AMEN.
