Song Description

Driving home from a bad day at work, this young man just wishes he could talk to his dad, but the dad lives in Heaven. However, today he decided to just look to the heavens and tell him anyway. Much to his surprise, he heard a response from his dad-- OUT LOUD

Story Behind the Song

It seems driving is always the place I want to reach out and tell dad/mom about a bad day. Unfortunately mine are in Heaven. I look at the clouds and talk to them anyway because I know they are there and listening. Sometimes I swear I can hear them respond-- OUT LOUD.

Broadjam Member Reviews

Good song and nice lyrics. Good mix and production. very strong vocal performance and vox sits upfront as it should.

Lyrics

Started as a one-way conversation
With a member of the congregation
of Heaven's church that sits up in the sky
Sounds crazy but I'm just saying
I've never been good at praying
but a chat with Dad is just what I needed tonight

He was my biggest fan and the only man
who could knock me down with a stare
he never let me slack, but he had my back
he was tough but he was fair
I was driving home feeling all alone
I started talking to the clouds
As I shared my day, I swear I heard him say "son,
you make me proud." I heard out loud. Out loud.

That two-way conversation
With a member of the congregation
of Heaven's church that sits up in the sky
May sound crazy but I'm just saying
I like talking way more than praying
and that chat with Dad is just what I needed tonight
Its been so long since he's been gone
but he's right there on my mind
no substitute can fill his boots
or the void he left behind.
I was driving home feeling all alone
and started talking to the clouds
As I shared my day, I swear I heard him say "son,
you make me proud." I heard out loud. Out loud.

I was driving home feeling all alone
and started talking to the clouds
As I shared my day, I can hear him say "son,
you make me proud." I heard out loud.
