Story Behind The Song
This song was written about a girl I was in and out of a relationship with in 1998. She was a high-maintenance girl who just could not make up her mind about us, or much of anything else. The song basically is about the frustration I felt with her indecisiveness, and her need to just try everything and everyone out, at the expense of our relationship. It's about not being able to emotionally get away from someone you know you shouldn't be with.

Lyrics
Caught Up In You
Words and Music by Erik Winger
Baby's young, and she's burning with desire
Searching for anything to lift her higher
She can't commit 'til she discovers what's out there
But I just sit here waiting while she's playing - anticipating
I have got my hands tied, caught up in you
I'm caught on the outside, stumbling through...
She says she loves me, but we're gonna have to wait and see
I know she loves me, but instead she's breaking me
She's got a way about her, something that I can't describe...
And all the while she's playing, I feel jaded,
But I keep waiting
I have got my hands tied, caught up in you
I'm caught on the outside stumbling through...
Maybe she'd love me if I just become a millionaire
I know she loves me, but her heart's not playing fair
maybe another time, another place it'd all work out
But I just sit here waiting, medicating, anticipating
I have got my hands tied, caught up in you
I'm caught on the outside, stumbling through...
