It's you and me sitting here alone
while the wolf is just outside
he knows we're here can smell our fear
and we are running out of time
we're hunkered down safe & sound
but the cabin fever is bad
the wood pile is low the snow is deep
and we are miles from anywhere

that the wolf is gone

the hunters they are on the move
but the woods are thick and the cover good
best to keep the curtains drawn
and the lamp light burning low
they track him with with their barking dogs
over every hill and dale
but his victims turn up everywhere along his bloody trail

sheriff Brown is making rounds hear him holler through the door
it's not over yet shelter in place
we'll let you know when its safe for sure
up on the ridge they boxed him in they set a fool proof trap
it's just a matter of time before he hears that deadly snap
