Song Description

Comforting, pop/lullaby ballad, from the perspective of parent to child, or could be friend to friend.

Story Behind the Song

This song was originally inspired and written for my young son, who used to ask me endless "what if" questions. One specific "what if" moment was when he was about to go away on a school camping trip, one of his first away from home experiences. I wanted to give him the comfort of knowing I'll be there for him, whether in person or in this case, in spirit.

Lyrics

I'LL BE THERE
Music & Lyrics by Laura Adamowsky

IF THE STARS DON'T SHINE QUITE BRIGHT ENOUGH
AND YOU CAN'T SEEM TO FIND YOUR WAY BACK HOME
KNOW THAT I'LL BE THERE
CASTING MOONLIGHT EVERYWHERE
'TIL YOU'RE BACK WITH ME,
SAFE IN MY ARMS

IF THIS WORLD SEEMS MUCH GRANDER THAN YOU THOUGHT
BUT YOU'RE NOT SURE OF JUST WHICH WAY TO GO
KNOW THAT I'LL BE THERE
CASTING MOONLIGHT EVERYWHERE
SO YOU''LL NEVER FEEL ALONE

IF YOU'RE WONDERING WHAT I ASK IN RETURN
JUST A KISS BEFORE YOU GO
HOPING YOU WILL SEE
THAT I KNOW IT'S TRUE
WHEN YOU TELL ME "I LOVE YOU"
WHAT THAT MEANS TO ME
IS MORE THAN YOU'LL EVER KNOW...

SO, IF YOUR HEART BRINGS YOU BACK HERE TO ME
BUT YOU'RE WONDERING IS THIS WHERE YOU SHOULD BE
KNOW THAT I'LL BE THERE
TO TOUCH THE MOONLIGHT IN YOUR HAIR
AS I'M HOLDING YOU CLOSE TO ME...
IF EVER YOU NEED ME, THEN I'LL BE THERE
