Story Behind The Song
This is a rough mix of a song that will be coming out on Dame
Fortune's new CD Both Sides of Midnight in August 2004
Song Description
Growing up in Pittsburgh we were all force fed a lot of classic
rock, ala Areosmith and Led Zep, that by default became the
soundtrack of our lives as we first experienced the newfound
freedom of having "dad's car for the night." And now we are
reminded of that feeling of freedom everytime we hear those
songs again, as we drive late at night and crank up the radio!
A poignantly joyful nostalgic celebration of a man looking
back on the carefree days youth and the songs that served
as the soundtrack to his life then and continue to do so now.
musically Kiss meets Queen! A Rock and Roll All Night meets
Flat Bottomed Girls for the new Millenium!

MIDNIGHT RADIO

Me and my friends an? dad's car for the night
No place to go and no end in sight
With the windows down and the wind in our hair
We never felt so free as we did back then
And the soundtrack was those timeless songs
We knew them all, we sang along
Oh good God and bless my soul, I was raised on the midnight radio
Oh good God and bless my soul, I was raised on the midnight radio
Times have changed, we have moved on
But once in a while when my journey's long
I listen in on days long gone
and the memories come with each driving song
And the soundtrack is those timeless songs
I know them all, I scream along
Chorus
Solo
I know out there, somewhere tonight
a restless youth waits by the light
He hums a song he's just beginning to know
Another boy being raised on the radio
And the soundtrack is those timeless songs
For better or worse, right or wrong
Chorus
