Story Behind The Song

The song was originally inspired by us losing our mother. but it seems almost tailor-made for the current state of affairs in America.

Song Description

It starts starts out describing a loss that was impossible to face at first and the singer just retreats from life. The darkness and loneliness slowly become intolerable and he begins to realize that things will only get worse unless he digs himself out of the hole. Bit by bit, one day at a time, he draws himself closer and closer to the "life up ahead".
