Singer/songwriter David Coburn having just completed a 507 performance run on Broadway as an original cast member of the hit musical Saturday Night Fever, continues the pursuit of his own songwriting career and the release of his second indie CD, Comes The Dawn. Mr. Coburn recorded his latest disk with the help of hit-maker/producers Eric Gast (Bowie, Peter Gabriel, Brittany Spears, Guns and Roses) and Kennan Keating (Taylor Dane, Nine Inch Nails) as well as Lou Reed’s veteran rhythm section Tony Smith and Fernando Saunders. The album contains the driving “latin” pop/rock song, “Sin Tu Amor”, for which Mr. Coburn received First Place in the Latin division of the 2002 USA Songwriting Contest. Coburn has collaborated with Bobby Kimbal, lead singer of Toto, he’s played with Clarence Clemmens of The E Street Band, and has written, played and recorded music for many happy people, for many years.

Singer/songwriter David Coburn is one of those pleasant surprises that refreshes the ear and engages the mind. His original sound comes from not only his unique point of view, but also from the way he plays his open-tuned guitar. A classically trained pianist of over thirty years, Coburn’s well developed rhythmic and melodic sensibility complement his "relatively" new relationship to the guitar.
