Rob Ieva bio
Rob Ieva began studying the piano at the age of six. He was trained classically through college, receiving a BA in Music at the University of Miami.
Rob starting writing at the age of seventeen:
1990 - 1991: Attended Firespark fine arts camp and composed several pieces of orchestrated music. One of these pieces was used for a promotional video by the camp. The following year Rob composed and performed a piece at the Suncoast Dome in St. Petersburg, Florida.
1991 – 1995: Attended the University of Miami’s School of Music, majoring in Music Industry with piano as a principal instrument. There, Rob composed many pieces that were performed in concert by the University’s Electronic Music Ensemble.
1995 – 1998: Moved to NY and played at various restaurants and bars, including the Blue Zoo cigar bar in Brooklyn.
1998-1999: Moved to Boston and composed the score for a short animated film showcased at the 1999 Siggraph computer animation festival in LA.
1999 – 2001: Debuted on MP3.com. Rob’s song “Unmasked” stayed in the top five songs on the film music charts for over two months. His CD, “Ieva”, was one of the best selling film music CD’s during that time period.
2001 -2004: Signed a three year deal with the indie label, Hexagon Records. Rob’s song “Unmasked” was placed on two separate Hexagon compilation albums. Artists on these albums included Sun-Ra, Fela Kuti, and Prince.
2006: Debuted five songs, recorded at Vantine Studios, on Myspace.com. Achieved over 2000 listens in less than two months time. Rob has received many requests from independent film makers to use his music in their films, and has also been asked to do collaborative projects with other musicians on myspace.
Current: Rob’s main focus is to license his special brand of piano driven acoustic music and orchestrations for film and television, but would also be interested in marketing music to the New Age radio market, Adult Contemporary radio market, and the Easy Listening radio market. Rob is a hardworking, no-nonsense mellow musician with an absolutely tenacious drive for perfection.
