I refuse to conceive of life as ending in defeat. I am not alone in my attitude in this sentiment, but for all those who disagree... its for you that I make music. I live my life as a full orchestra, and I will freely lend this work for the countless voices singing proud melodies unaccompanied.

Michael Day

Intricate, advanced Jazz on the stages of Carnegie Hall and the main stage of the Chicago Jazz Festival, and gritty Rock in Lower Manhattans club scene represent two of Michael's versatile musical endeavors. This 25 year old composer / arranger / singer, easily shifts from slicing through Cuban Son Montuno to presenting poignant lyrics that make most of us stop to take a serious look at ourselves. Coming up through Chicago's South Side, Michael made his way at late night jam sessions and smokey clubs, to then transplant himself into the world famous jazz department of Manhattan School of Music. Integrating the harmonic understanding of an accomplished improviser, wide eyed world traveler, and all the advantages that a public library card could afford him, Michael composes music from a vantage point most singer-songwriters scratch and claw to attain.
