intervision is a young, Portland-based quintet who's sound mixes elements of jazz, pop, and soul into a gorgeous contemporary mix. Earning comparisons to Jamiroquai, Steely Dan, and Stevie Wonder, intervision is recognized by tightly knit three-part harmonies flowing effortlessly atop infectious grooves.

Formerly known as Intervision 5, intervision released their sophomore album "Shades Of Neptune" to a sold out crowd of 620+ at Portland's Aladdin Theater on 4/7/07. Sponsored by Music Millennium and 97.1 FM, this was intervision's biggest accomplishment to date. A front page article in The Oregonian's 'Living' section the following Monday helped to increase exposure.

The band has also received significant radio airplay, and were recently featured on a "Best Bands in Portland" episode of local cable show PDXposed, which was hosted by Storm Large.

With an incredible frontman, and a love for melody and groove, it is clear that intervision is on the rise.

Biography

Intervision 5 is a young, Portland-based quintet who's sound mixes elements of soul, rock, and funk into a gorgeous contemporary mix. Earning comparisons to Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, and Jamiroquai, Intervision 5 is recognized by decorative three-part harmonies flowing effortlessly atop infectious grooves.

The recent focus of Intervision 5 was the completion of their debut album, "Inside", at the renowned Kung Fu Bakery in Portland, Oregon. The album features such guest musicians as Hans Teuber (woodwinds/Ani Difranco) and legendary Portland guitarist Dan Balmer, and was co-produced by Grammy winning engineer Bob Stark. The Oregonian writes, “It's a sweet listen. Lyrics tug at the heart from everyday moments, while pure vocals steer melodies over engaging rhythms.”

In the first few weeks after the albums release, Intervision 5 received a weeklong feature on KINK FM 102, were booked a spot on the Bite of Oregon’s A&E mainstage, and received their television debut on KATU's AM Northwest Morning Show. Since then, Intervision 5 has opened for the pop/rock band Lifehouse in Boise, Idaho, where they played for upwards of 8,000 people. They have also received airplay on both 105.1 the Buzz and 94.7 NRK, been featured on the cable television show PDXposed, and have begun building an out-of-state fan base by returning to Boise on a bi-monthly basis. Along with overflowing venues such as The Buffalo Gap on a regular basis, Intervision 5 has also sold over 2,000 copies of their debut album since it's release in June.

The players of Intervision 5 initially met as music students at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, OR, and each member brings to the table a distinct musical personality. What each member has in common is a genuine love for good music that is written from the heart and from the soul. The goal of Intervision 5 is to spread the message of their music to as many people as possible, and to have a hell of a time while doing it.

Intervision 5 is as-yet unsigned.

Lyrics - This Time

This Time

Verse
I know there's more to what lies on the floor in the bedroom door.
To see beyond this is truth cast aside just to feel more.
If I get excited am I sure to hide it inside my mind?
Rest on my shoulder, am I sure to hold her in this time?

Chorus
I think I'll let my head
Fall behind my heart
This time a full mind...
(on an empty heart will starve)

Verse
Can the stars be so bright in the sky on a cloudy night?
Her body's flowing my mind starts going "is she mine?"
Maybe this high will arrive at some kind of repressed smile.
This fiction makes friction, these words lack distinction, but I feel fine

Bridge
My head fights my heart.
My heart fights my soul.
My heart will win this war.
This time my mind will believe

Lyrics - All She'll Never Have

All She'll Never Have

Verse
Better ignore the before and after glances
As she passes through the air.
Better not ponder or wander too far down that thought,
To her it is not fair.
She didn’t ask for the task of breaking men down at the sound of her voice,
“Wearing beauty by choice”
presumed the crowd as they shouted at her proudly,
and, boy, they shouted loudly.

Chorus
She moves so tenderly
That her footsteps can’t be seen
But her glow is fadin’ fast.
Did she ever stand a chance.

Verse
She affects me, directs towards that place encased in stone.
She enslaves me, captivates my will, holds the deed, but does not know.
She watches her step, and looks in their eyes.
And still they hate her, they berate her,
I want her bad, and ain’t it sad,
The flaws that could save her,
Are all she’ll never have.
Kinda makes ya laugh,
In the same way you’re tied up to the tracks
and there’s a train comin’ fast.

Bridge
For better or worse will I take her
I cannot watch all the pressure break her.
Standin’ strong but for how long
I can’t be sure but there’s no doubt
‘Neath the smile stands a pain that a million miles wide
and it’s tearing her from the inside out.

Lyrics - Easier to Go

Easier to Go

Verse
Loving a man like me
Girl, that’s impossible.
Selfish as I can be,
That’s undeniable

Pre
Maybe later we can say that
Never was an effort made but
We both know it ain’t so.
But you came and you stayed
And I hate to remind you…but I will

Chorus
It’s easy to come here
And easier to go.
The heart of another is never your own.
Yet you’re standing here with me,
And I can’t say I see why.

Verse
Placing your heart in my hands
That’s not suggestible.
Entrusting mine once again,
I can be so gullible

Pre
Maybe later we can say that
Never was an effort made but
We both know it ain’t so.
But you came and you stayed
And I hate to remind you…but I will

Chorus
It’s easy to come here
And easier to go.
The heart of another is never your own.
Yet you’re standing here with me,
And I can’t say I see why.

Bridge
The crying, the trying
The missing, the kissing,
The wishing that she’d know my darkness.
All is revealed in the end

Chorus
It’s easy to come here
And easier to go.
The heart of another is never your own.
Yet you’re standing here with me,
And I can’t say I see why.
