This is a page for Chris Kelly and his bands The Fab Lushes and Brain Buckit. Chris regularly submits for tv and film opportunities here. Enjoy.
The Fab Lushes are on to something good with a tight, upbeat, roots-rock sound.Internationally road tested (7 Europe Tours) and proven, their songs end up on TV, Radio and in Movies. Members of the band have played with: BB King, Taj Mahal, Ray Charles, George Thorogood, Keb Mo, John Hammond Jr., Robert Cray and performed on The Late Show with David Letterman.
They brilliantly pay homage to an eclectic mix of styles, but always stay true to American blues roots.
The rockin' grooves build solidly, and so does the party.
BRAIN BUCKIT is Super-charged, funked-up music with a unique blend of tasty guitar and brass. While retaining their musical integrity, they produce extremely PEOPLE FRIENDLY, ROCKING, RADIO MUSIC. High energy, jammin' Rock n' Roll is what Brain Buckit is all about.
Don't miss this Band! They're on to something good with a tight, upbeat sound and an eclectic mix of styles ranging from funk to rock, with even some jazz and ska thrown in for good measure. Chris Kelly's amazing guitar fortified with horns makes their sound huge and hard to follow.

Super-charged, funked-up music
When Chris Kelly was 18 years old, he drove from New Jersey to the New Orleans Jazz Fest. Over the following weekend, he would hear his calling: Start a band that fuses the festive sounds of New Orleans with the guitar driven, blues rock he grew up on. The result is a unique mix of jamming guitar and funky horns.
San Diego's Brian Buckit has been shakin' rump-sides and bobbin' noggins everywhere. Their music has been described as "super-charged, funked-up, mardis gras, booty-shakin music". Their blend of horns and guitar encourages both boogiers and partiers to get serious about their business. This is fun Rock 'n' Roll through and through. Brain Buckit songs are being played on the radio and in podcasts around the world and have been placed in several award winning films. They have contributed music to many compilation discs, placing their songs on over 300,000 CDs in circulation. Beyond San Diego, they tour many states regularly where their incredible live shows continue to attract more fans. Brain Buckit bridges styles and generations and is sure to go over great in your neck of the woods.

The four guys and a gal render a tight mix of jazzy rock that's occasionally punked out with ska horns. Guitarist Chris Kelly provides Hendrix-inspired fills. Brain Buckit's willingness to experiment with their sound is admirable.
San Diego Reader - Hometown CDs - Brain Buckit - By Mary Montgomery
I've been gently enlightened as to the importance of wearing a Buckit on your Brain when traveling the intergalactic sonic speedway. BRAIN BUCKIT, rocked out the closing set and threw a self-contained energetic party on stage.
AndyB of TIPSY V PRESENTS! - October 31, 2004
Freakiest Halloween Jamz EVER! Friday night @ Riddles in review:
Like the neo-blues roadhouse funk they like to riff on (The Meters, Taj Mahal, Hendrix), the overallu underbelly feeling of BB's back alley grooves is probably left unspoken. Just show up, turn off your temporal lobe and listen to your loins.

It's like AC/DC goes to Mardis Gras!" The funky jams and rock and roll are back and the party's getting bigger. Not only has BRAIN BUCKIT consistently been expanding their fan base across the country, but the band is growing as well.
