Melody and verse; the art of sound and communication, when melded together through the inspiration of the heart, touches the senses in a way like no other medium. As a child, I was fortunate to grow up in a family who loved and participated in music. My mother and grandmother were beautiful vocalists as well as pianists; my sister also was a trained pianists, and we all sang in the church choir over the years. I wanted to play Rachmaninoff, and other romantic composers, but I never formally studied.   I play by ear, keyboard, guitar, percussion.  I began making up songs as a child, when I would experience emotions, for which I could not find a song to describe.  So, I began "feeling" what the music sounded like, and happily, found a way to express it.  Writing has always been a necessity.  It naturally flows into lyrics, whenever the inspirations come.

Hi, Cyn. When I heard "The Drawing Room" with your lyrics and the vocal mood you put into it, I thought, wow, this person really writes great emotional lyrics and can get them across! That was a great match for you. I admire Bob Bentley's songwriting. I'll visit your page some more. Thank you for your enjoyment and vote of confidence for "Raindrop Soul." That is very close and special song for me. John

Hello John,
Thank you so much for your kind words; I appreciate it greatly. Bob's beautiful composition, was such an inspiration, and I am very thankful that he agreed to "put up with me"! Working with him has been a great pleasure, especially since I have been rather incommunicado and non-productive, (albeit, not by my design, but by the pandemic and work that it produced), regarding my time here on the site and with personal projects and collaborations.
"Raindrop Soul" is a sweet song about your beloved cat; I can relate, having two of my own, and other critters that are so dear! Wonderful tribute to your late buddy.
Have a fun, safe weekend!

Hi, Cyndi. The pandemic put a lot of dents in our lives. We have to be so much more careful. I think if our societies could have been cooperative, the viruses would have come to a total halt. But it did get me back on Broadjam to get back into writing and producing music. I hope you have many more years to spend with your cats and critters. I've been listening to some more of your songs. Enjoyable and a lot of versatility! I'd like to be able to do electronica like that! John

Oh my! Thank you both gentlemen, for your most wonderful comments! Yes, as you remarked Thierry, "Unbearable" is a song that reflects a true happening, regarding a beautiful young boy in the prime of his life, who was the love of my life. Thierry's wonderful, impactful and beautiful composition, was the perfect vehicle to tell the story. He brought all of the elements together in one, perfect expression of love and loss.

And yes John, you are correct about this latest pandemic. If everyone would have been on-board in helping to eleminate the scourge of illness and death, it could have haulted the spread, and saved lives. We are still dealing with it, albeit, now with the help and protection of the vaccine and boosters. When one has seen the results of how the desease process can take the life of an otherwise healthly individual, one is more prone in doing everything that they can, to fight it, just as our population did in the '50's, with Polio, and before that, the dreaded Smallpox, Diptheria, etc., with a prophylactic vaccine.....................(but, I digress into nursing mode.)
I'm happy that this time for you John, has afforded you the opportunity to go back to your writing and producing music! For myself, it took me away from things creative, but for a few things, as my profession demanded more of my time. Happily, I'm back! Now, if I can just better figure out this newer BJ platform!

Thank you again gentlement!
