Hey John- Appreciate the review of "SHINE". Thanks for your kind comments. Had radio in mind when we recorded this, 3:30 or so is 'bout right for country over here. Longer would be nice, but not necessarily better!! Thanks again! Mike
Thanks so much for the wonderful review of "who you are".
cool Kim i wish I could find a UK singer with your experience and talent
Thanks John, I enjoyed your song "killing me" just took a listen, really nice.
fire In your eyes has been entered into Oldiecomposers.com competition, Sir Terry Wogan and kent bruce are among the judges, just hope its the "song not the singer" as me vocals not on form ? (-:
Thank you, Mr. Katon, for your compliments. I am deeply humbled by the fact that you (as someone with incredibly rich experience and rare talent) appreciate and enjoy the songs I've written. That being said, if you'll allow, I am also particularly impressed with the song Fire in Your Eyes, which is written right from the heart. What an incredible guitar track! I hope you submit more songs. In answer to your question regarding instrumentation, it would probably be more accurate to say that I am completely without instruments, and that I program everything from scratch through a midi portal. Sad but true. On a side note, I'd like to know more about your experiences with the Triffiks, and I do hope that you elaborate in a bio. Thank you for your time and consideration. Al.
Thanks Alfred, BIo on way, im helping out at a Fringe theatre festival In Exeeter Devon today (Tecnical side) but wil coe back to you soon.Im even more impressed by the way you go about it (-; are you familiar with Mike Oldfield?
Thank you for reviewing my song 'What Have We Done Now?'. It's always nice to have useful input from your peers. I listened to your work. Very nice. It kind of reminded me of some Robin Trower stuff. Keep up the good work. Good luck to you.
thanks Sola, nfortunately im not a professional and have just been reviewd on Music Xray by someone in the State. It pays to have a thick skin in this lark o(Im an ex fringe theatre techie and I could write an encyclopedia about that, Do you ever come over to the UK?
Ps is there a hint of Courtney Pine in your music? Ive always been a greatfan of his especially after his collaborations with my hero, Mike Oldfield?
Those are some familiar flavors you mentioned-Courtney Pine and Mike Oldfield. That takes me back a ways. My bass flavors I must say were influenced by another British outfit-Level 42. It's been a while since I've been out your way..quite a while actually. I used to work with touring bands as a drummer and let that go. This song writing thing is something I've wanted to pursue seriously for a while and now ...Here I am. Definitely different from performing. Take care and stay in touch.
yup Level 42, now you are talking!!! (-: (the longest time I was in a band was 6 years and I played Bass with them we wernt pro but had loads of gigs. We did a cover of Vanilla Fudges "You keep me hanging on" and I had great fun playing that.we also did a lot of Who and The Move covers
Sounds like loads of fun. What part of the UK do you live? Last time I was in the area I played mostly in London and did a couple of dates in Ipswich..on the coast there.
Thanks for the review John The song is performed written and mixed and mastered by me so it's good to hear from another ear ...sometimes we get too close ...it's about a drummer we had in the band that committed suicide ...a lil too close and personal to judge ...thanks again for the review Peace Smokin Joe pilloud
