TAKE ME BACK ... it only took a few bars into this song for me to have the feeling that this could be a response song to Dido's WHITE FLAG, which is one of top 10 songs ever. I would rather have a WHITE FLAG song than a number 1 song on any chart, and here is why. WHITE FLAG has been played for about 9 years in the USA, at least once a hour in every Wal Mart store, every K-Mart, every Home Depot, anywhere they have piped in music to help make consumers make some kind of purchase, and I believe WHITE FLAG will be played that way for many more years to come. Imagine the royalties on this song. Anyway, I hear TAKE ME BACK as sort of a response song to WHITE FLAG, even though the sound is so different. Vee Bdosa Ft Dix Maguire AFB NJ
World Is Changing...You comment it was recorded on a 4 trk R-R, personally, I see no problem with that, it is still a good sound, and what you should keep in mind, is that many, many artists recorded their hits on a R-R, some, like Buddy Holly, the Crickets, in their garage. And those actual recordings became monster hits. I think we have been brainwashed to believe the engineering gurus today are worth $10,000 a session. I have tested a few, with amazing results, their work versus the same work without the high priced mastering, guess what, that engineer missed it many times. Mastering today does not necessarily translate into a hit recording, nor does it always sound better to anyone other than the one doing the mastering and charging the mega hundreds of dollar, for something that in reality, is just not there. I am listening to all of your songs. Maybe I will have an idea you can use, maybe not. I believe you have the HITS, but that is the easy part. Marketing and promoting are everything today.
