David. Thank you for your kind review of 'Sunburst'. That particular song won a Broadjam competition so I'm hoping that something special will happen with it. Thanks once again. David
Well, done David and you are most welcome. "Sunburst" is a great song! Good Luck with your music! I have never won anything! I was a Finalist in the 2008 UK Songwriting Contest but that was it!
Thank you for the review for 'How I Roll.' I really appreciate it.
Hi Everyone "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Check out my latest which is the closest I have written to a Van Morrison song called "STARLIT NIGHT". Hope you enjoy! Cheers amigos "UNGRATEFUL DAVE!"
happy composings and the best of success in 2015 world as music
Hey, Oskar long time no speak! HAPPY NEW YEAR and I hope that you have a great 2015!
Hi Check out my latest which is the closest I have written to a Van Morrison song called "STARLIT NIGHT". Hope you enjoy! Cheers amigos "UNGRATEFUL DAVE!"
thanx david
You have some good tunes on here David! ~GP
Hi Greg (Crosseyed Miles) Thanks very much for your very kind words. I have just checked some of your songs and was very impressed! Is it yourself who sings? Great voice also the guitarist is outstanding! I only write as a side line, as I'm trying to become an author. Have written first book of a trilogy and on second draft. Hope to get signed to William Morris (Literary agents) next year. I find song writing therapeutic and enjoy the creative process. Your rock sounding voice is authentic and original. I wrote a spoof Meatloaf track called "ON LONELY NIGHT", with my tongue firmly in my mouth! I used a studio called SCAMP and their version is excellent. All tracks on my account which have SCAMP have been re-recorded + re-arranged by them. Good Luck have a feeling you are gonna be famous quite soon! Cheers amigo Dave Austin aka "UNGRATEFUL DAVE!" (Brighton stage name) Not really 'ungrateful' per se but Brighton has thousands of musicians and unless your 'stage name' is a bit unusual, quirky and / or memorable no one would remember you the following day let alone next week!
*The "Rap" genre on the last review was an error!! ROCK
Hi Jeff, Thanks for the review of my song "THE HUSTLER!", you are right the recording is 'TERRIBLE' I know. You should check out the SCAMP version! That is "THE HUSTLER - (SCAMP) they do a much better job. If you like rock songs also check out "ONE LONELY NIGHT (SCAMP)" I have had such good feedback from other musicians about what SCAMP STUDIO have done with these songs. Am sending "One Lonely Night - SCAMP" & "The Hustler - SCAMP" off to Aerosmith + Meatloaf! It's a long shot but I think it is worth a punt! Cheers again! Ungrateful Dave!
Nice David!! One Lonely Night v2 is definitely a Meatloaf type tune but it's better than that!! Friggin movin' tables...that's the worst. : ) You should connect with my buddy Adam Maxwell who's in the same SE corner of SE England (Sandwich can't be that far from Brighton, no?)
Hi Jeff, Thanks for the 'Head's up' about Adam Maxwell! I'm glad you liked the SCAMP version of "One Lonely Night!" I think they nailed what I was looking for! I was well impressed with your musicianship on the guitar! Outstanding. Because, I am more of a song writer I don't tend to focus so much on trying to be a great guitarist. My creative energy (if you can call it that) tends to be writing directed towards writing in general. Last year I finished the first book of a (trilogy). Without being too pretentious the trilogy is a geo-political forensic thriller. Think more complex than John Grisham! Hoping to get signed to William Morris (Literary Agents) next year. Have an established writing mentoring me on the 2nd draft of the first book. I should be finished on the re-write, tightening up the storyline by April 2015! I write music for my pleasure, I find it is a bit like musical crossword puzzles! When I finally 'crack' the middle eight of a song it's a little bit like sex! A great feeling! I have no intention of gigging! I'm too busy and have too many projects on the boil! I go out and play at 'Open Mics' around Brighton! Good Luck with all your musical endeavours, it's hard trying to break in to the music game. I think you just have to keep going. Cheers amigo David
Thank you for your re4view David I agree about female vocals this is not the complete track its just a demo. As in my Bio I have bee away from music for a while now but intend to launch my CD next year. Thanks again Eric
Hi David, thanks for the review of Lauriella. I like the challenge, I will certainly experiment with broader progressions and instrumentation.
Hi David, Thank You For Your ReviEw Of My Song "It's Over". I Definitely Understand What You Are Saying About Everything. Great Feedback And Glad You Liked My Song! Thank You For Listening.
It is my pleasure. I thought "It's Over" a very good song, with lots of influences that even I at 65 could hear! I wish you lots of good luck in marketing! Hope to see you soon at the big awards ceremonies and on TV soon! Good Luck in your music Take care Dave Austin aka "UNGRATEFUL DAVE! (that's my stage name in Brighton, UK)
Hi David, thank you for your review of Carolina Roads. I think I am going to explore that suggestion about the middle eight in my next composition, it is a great idea. Cheers.
Hi Numinous Owl, (great name by the way!) It was my pleasure, and thought that with your musicianship you will have a great career ahead of you as a songwriter as well. Continued good luck in your song writing and getting your stuff out there and on the radio + TV Hope to hear about you soon Cheers amigo Dave Austin (aka "UNGRATEFUL DAVE!" my stage name in Brighton UK where I live!)
Thanks for your very positive review of Storm David - you've made my day!
Hi Allan, it was my pleasure to review Storm. You have some interesting musical ideas!

David, Thank you for your very kind review of B-I-T-C-H
Hi Brian, it was my pleasure. I liked the words they seemed to have the 'ring of authenticity!'. If I can put it that way! Great song though!
greetings
Hello Oskar
David it was a pleasure to listen to your beautiful, "The Gentle Wind". Thanks for the connection, and I wish you the best with your lovely music!
Thanks for your kind words, I will have to re-record it as I originally recorded on cubase years ago now I use LOGIC and then try and develop it. I have listened to some of your music and I absolutely love your voice which has a ethereal dreamy quality really beautiful. Loved your song "Celtic Mantra Vision", which I think should be used in a film perhaps in a scene of ancient times as the harmonic sound is amazing! Well done!
Thank you so much David for your interest in my music. It pleases me that you like the work. It is a passion! Best wishes to you and yours.
Thanks for reviewing my song Country Time! Your feedback is greatly appreciated!
Hi Jack, it was my pleasure to review your 'country song song "Country Time!".
Hi David, thanks for your review of Wise Old Owl (which you called Birds of a Feather) which was helpful. I particularly liked the idea of adding some keyboards to the track - I think that would make it more atmospheric. Phil
Hi Phil, my pleasure in commenting positively on your lovely song "Wise Old Owl". Yes, I thought either keyboards, and/or some gentle brass would to add some orchestral muscle to the arrangement.
so relate to your lyrics mate ! honest and earthy love it
Hi Stefo, Thanks for your very kind comments! Am at this moment pitching 3 - 4 songs to the management of 85 big music artists to see if they want to use any of my songs! As well as 'cherry picking' 12 of my best ones to the senior A&R managers of the big 4 labels (Universal Music, Sony Music Entertainment, EMI and Warner Music) to see if I can get a musicv publishing contract as a writer! Can I ask which lyrics you thought the most effective and persausive?
Just listened to 'Poison Kisses' and 'Seasons', loved them both. Although I preferred Seasons great jazz groove and feel to the song! Well done!
well for me i listened to cover king and big old sky, but they were kind of relevant to my experiences will listen to some others. i liked the gritty nature of the lyrics and
Hi Nashville Joe, Glad you liked my idea! It was a sort of bossa pastiche I know and with development it could go to another level! At the moment though have many projects on so will have to go back to it when I have more time! Thanks for your encouraging comments Take it easy - David
summer lovers--nice concept--needs more development--cheers--joe.
David: thank you so much for the great review. Penny Lea
Hi Penny, the accolade is well worth it! After reading your profile, I can see you have a much more academic music background than I do! I don't even read music! I am afraid I just feel the sounds and then record it! I am very impressed with the quality of your work! Kind regards - David
DAVID Thank You for your review of "walkin' in old shoes". i will take your suggestion into consideration. I plan on lyrics and vocals for it-the guy is tired of his old shoes, old life, old girlfriend and he is gonna buy new shoes and walk right away from her!!!TAPPIN' TOMMY
Hi Osea, if you would like to e-mail me I can discuss on dga.music@ntlworld.com in more depth. Just to let you know that I am English, born and bread here and I am a native speaker.
Hi Peter, My pleasure in saying again how talented you are! You have a really great voice, and the song is very good indeed! My voice is lousy! Maybe I should start smoking! (joking!) (NOT!)
David, Many thanks for having a listen to Wiseman and offering your thoughts. Appreciate the comments. Pete
Hi Bryant, Glad you liked review. After having read the "Rollback Anthem" I can see you have tried to create an artistic sound which is protesting against certain aspects of commercialism? As you can appreciate it is quite hard to accurately determine precisely where a given song is coming from when the listener is hearing it blind (as it were). I clicked on the 'random' button because I find that more interesting to listen to stuff which I don't normally hear. In any event I wish you lots of Luck in your musical endeavours.
No worries, totally understand reviewers partial blind perspective, not offended in the slightest. Simply sharing a laugh of sorts based in irony. For clarity sake, big box stores come to town and all the little mom n pop places go out of business till all that's left is the big box store then they raise their prices and lower wages and lower the quality of goods for sale. Bad for everyone except big box store shareholders. In fact there are far reaching layers of 'bad' for any community where these guys show up. Anything but a free market I'm afraid. The term "Rollback" is a marketing bit from one of these big box giants where they say they're rolling back their prices.. Otherwise I tried to make the piece I wrote full of unfulfilled promise (themes that go nowhere, but are redundant) and I tried to communicate using instruments and sounds that are associated with these jokers marketing (patriotic, holiday etc) even threw in a bit of muzak. If you didn't like some aspects of it...... really, that's a good thing. Peace to you and much success in speaking out for truth.
Hi David, thanks for your review of my "Rollback Anthem". Having read your bio, I would encourage you to visit my page and read what that song is about. Not sure if the Big Box Retail store concept has made it to the UK yet, but this is a protest song of sorts railing against that business model. Thought it was somewhat ironic having read your bio that this would be the song BJ cued for you to review.
