been a while...mmm, k longer than expected lol. here's Say A Prayer ;)
Congrats on your song success Todd! I'm new to Broadjam. trying to figure it all out. How long did the Learning Curve take you to navigate / understand broadjam?
Hi Linda, Thanks! how long? it depends on what you want out of broadjam. I have met some talented people here and it's interesting how people write and record their art forms. I have done well on the charts (good reviews) but I really submitted them for feedback, so I could try to become a better writer :) it certainly as helped. broadjam has been updating and improving their features so you just kind of have to look at what they can do for you ;) Good luck Todd
Happy to do it for you. You write good songs. I also like the way you put the mixes together. I certainly can appreciate perhaps just a little more (your songs), as when there is only one person; it certainly takes more talent, time and effort to make the song sound the way we would like; it's a alot of hats to wear! lol Broadjam certainly has voted several of our songs into the charts which is nice to see. Keep up the great work :) Todd
(emali was error-ing out, so replying here instead). Thanks for the feedback on "the Chase" Todd. I really appreciate it. Looks like we are each doing the one-man-show thing (and perhaps succeeding to a degree if broadjam is a fair barometer of things to come for each of us ?? ). Thanks again! Shawn
wow! I love your songs!
thank you!
I wonder why - great guitar playing and singing - my wife said "cool song". Nice job all round - falsetto at the end a nice surprise (could be up in the mix a tad?). Hope you sell some songs!
Thanks Micheal, and yes I agree about the vox in the mix. It's being licensed in a upcoming movie and I just finished tweaking the mix for it (vox higher up in the mix), I'll probably add it here soon. I listened to Travelogue, very very nice. I gave it "5 stars" and sent it to facebook :) Loved the playing, you captured it well; nice mix. I bet it's just fun fun fun to play. Best to you, Todd
I love your song "I Wonder Why". You're a very talented artist....great vocals! Minister Glenda
Thank you, very much appreciated :)
We Are We by Todd Carther Thomas made the Age 25-36 : Last 180 days Top 10 Great Job Todd....Love your work! Lori
Hi Chaz, I have been using Digidesign/Protools 8.4 LE and have been happy with it. A lot of ways to create and edit. I elected to use them as many studios use them in Chitown and I wanted to make it seamless if I decided to do some collaborative work. I have heard your work and its good but also remember that a better recording would do it justice. Glad to help, good luck! TCT
how do i get it/download it? is it free?

Hi Lori, Happy Holidays! been a litte busy with them lol, who played guitar on your tracks? very cool :)
Thanks for reviewing my song "can't remember." Can you clarify why many of the ratings were 4's if you found no cons about the song?
...diggin' "I wonder why" right now btw :)
Hi Shawn, great Q?, lol. Reviews are subjective I suppose, as I could find anything that was "wrong", only more on preference. I really like the way your song comes in but as a songwriter/musician I could hear the next change differently than what you produced..that's an opinion. 4's in my world are actually very good when I give them, so is a decent review. I like your music btw, good writing, performing and good production. Glad you liked I Wonder Why. Happy Holidays! Todd
Good to know. Thanks for clarifying, and thank you for the compliments about my music. I had the pleasure to learn some invaluable tips from a highly successful songwriter (40M+ sales) several years ago, so I guess it shows :) Happy holidays to you too Todd!
hi Todd--just upgraded my production measurably and added 2 new songs: "It Ain't My Time" and "Color the World". Let me know whatchya think :) Wishing you peace, prosperity, health, and happiness!
It Ain't My Time sounds great! Good mix of guitars, strings and vox..you did a really nice job, Color the World's production is good too, but I liked the first one better. Voice sounds great. Happy Holidays..sorry took so long, busy with holidays lol, best to you and yours, Todd
Thanks Todd. Glad you liked my tune! Chiz.
Hi Todd- I just reviewed 'I Wonder Why' and for the fourth time in my last five reviews it disappeared when I clicked on submit- what a pain in the art. Anyway for what it's worth I like the song and said so. I think it's very George Harrison and I wanted to hear a sitar in the mix. It's got a good hook and a good groove. I think it could use a simple melody line during the guitar changes in the middle- nothing fancy maybe the 5 or 6 note sitar solo I heard in my head. What can I say- I heard George in there. Nice tune.
Hi Rob, Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and review. I have had some issues too with the broadjam review program not doing exactly what it is suppose to do..felt bad for the artist as I usually like the song when it happens. And yes, I agree something would sound nice there in the middle, I elected to "give it a rest" and come back later to it, fresh. Harrison is huge compliment so thank you. If you hadn't taken the time to write to me, I would of never known of your review as broadjam never sent the completed review. So thanks again, I really do appreciate your taking the time to review and share your valuable feedback. Happy Holidays to you and yours, Todd
Hey Todd thanks for the review - I will look at the mix again - you're not the first to mention the reverb! Good luck!
We have three different singers singing this song, each in our own style.....mine was the one you heard the other day, this is my daughter's and I suppose eventually you'll run in to my wife's....thank's again!
Thanks for the flattering review! I actually wrote this as an instrumental solo for Arturo Sandoval on an ill-fated Sicilian festival we were supposed to do! Kristin, my better half, and sometimes co-writer wouldn't hear of that because she loved the melody and insisted on writing a lyric, which when it was completed and I heard it, I liked it immediately..... On the session, I used live strings and besides me singing it, Kristin did a version as did my daughter Brooke....we also did a video on the making of "Waiting For You", which I'll probably stick up on youtube and possibly b'jam around the new year.... Kind Regards!
yes yes, like that song. strings are awesome too
Thnx again!
btw....video is up on youtube at 247hdjazz Happy Thanksgiving!
Hello and thanks very much for the review of our song Probably Wrong. Out of all the tunes on our record, that one is the most well received. Appreciate your kind comments! Dave from the Bros Dimm
Your very welcome. Really like that tune. Good luck to you! Todd
Hello, it is nice to see that you make a lot of reviews at the moment. You made 5 reviews to different songs of mine. The first advice I like to give you is, because of the internationality of broadjam artists, to try to write reviews in understandable English. Your reviews weren't any helpful to me, because your comments are based on your taste and not on technical advice. For example you wrote I should use a better recording but you didn't say what exactly should be improved. I could accept that from a fan member but not from an artist. There are a lot of artists with high responsability to each other during the process of reviewing on broadjam. But a handful of members don't understand the way of reviewing on broadjam. They are only making reviews to get back a lot of reviews to reach the top ten charts, this reminds me of how politicians do their work. I think broadjam is a platform to exchange experience not taste. Best wishes Gerald
Hi Gerald, your points are well taken. The last song that was reviewed was stopped by a technical malfunction and unfortunately I wasn't able to enjoy the rest of the song. Yes, I have reviewed quite a few songs and up until now, I haven't had anyone complain or give advice; however I do welcome your comments. I did go back and look at the reviews of your songs. Yes, I had indicated " a better recording" but you were right that I was not specific enough. I had noticed that the level of the voice track jumped up at some points and had not shared that with you...my apologies. I did like the song but felt that it would of sounded better if the vocal dynamics were smoother. As to scoring, I try to base it on the "curvature" of what other artists are sharing in their creations. I hope most agree or find the reviews helpful; my reviewing "score",provided by Broadjam Members, has been very good. (for what it is worth) I will however in the future try to be more specific and clearer in my reviews. I appreciate the response, Thank You, and Good Luck to You, Todd
Hello Todd, thanks a lot for your answer. The points in the reviews are secondary for me if they are not explained (even lesser or better points). This is the way I make reviews to other artists on broadjam, I try to explain the reasons for better or lesser points. Your explaining what "better recording" means is well for me now. I will have a look on it now and work it out. My level of the reviewing "score" is very good too, so this is perhaps the reason that we talk about that little problem in the moment. If you like we can stay in touch and connect. Best wishes to you and your work Gerald
Hey todd, could you please review my song "Some Things never change", let me know what you think. Thanks!
Hey Todd! thank you for the review on my song "found you".. cheers! :-) Chris
Hey, Todd. Thank you very much for your nice review of my song "Our Love Will Go All the Way". I agree with you--I don't quite know how to classify this song, and others who have reviewed it have had different ideas, too, of how it should be classified. Again, thanks for your review, and it's nice to meet you! Regards, -Mike
HI TODD Thanks for review of my song "Wise One." Comments are right on!
Thank you Todd for your review of "Robama" A Rocck/Middle Eastern fusion. You were right about the reverb on my voice! Noted! You gave me a very positive evaluation! Thanks again! Cheers! Tanya
Hi Tanya! I like that tune..very kewl. I thought it might be you when I heard it. You sang it great ;)
Thx again! It's nice to know that I could be recognizable as an artist on broadjam ! That's a very appealing compliment! Cheers Todd and hear you around! All the best!
Todd Thanks very much for your review of my song "The Ghetto". I thought it was a fair review and I will take your comments on board. Thanks again. Junior out.
Brooke's one of the few opera standout's qualified to sing other genre's! As a single parent/road-musician with two little girl's in the early 90's, the cassette players in my car and home NEVER stopped playing jazz and the girls were strongly influenced by this experience! In 93, Brooke was 6-7 and Sarah 5-6 (20 mos apart)we hit Vegas and I arranged Fats Domino's I'm Walkin' for the girls and I to do in the show! They were an instant hit! Brooke's now 24 and getting her Masters degree in Music Therapy(she graduated magna cum laude with a vocal performance degree, undergrad) Check my page out and listen to her amazing versatility.....she'll definitely 'knock you out with her classical stuff....her Debussy is off the charts, but so is her Mozart and Billy Strayhorn! Thanks for the review, and please excuse the rambling!
Hi Todd Thanks for reviewing BIG WEDNESDAY...pretty much spot on Cheers!! Paul Vincent
Hi Todd Thanks for the review of (Searching for love) all comments taken on board Keep rocking and all the best Pete.
