Chris, thank you for reviewing "Take A Chance". I listen to a lot of songs and music and try to find what makes them stand out from the rest and it is really hard because to me, most every song is telling the same old story just in different words. The only way to make it sound different is to have a top ten artist sing it and for the most part, they are not any better singers than a lot of the talent here on Broadjam. I'm not including myself in that perspective because I know I need work on my vocals and I am planning on having a few of my songs redone by a better vocalist, that is why I like the review section on this site. hey chris--i do more poetry than songwriting anyway--i been doing poetry shows here for about 17 years--i never set out to be a songwriter--it just happened--i read a lot of poetry books and got lots of stuff floating all over the globe with my name on it-i still liked the dead poets society movie--i got such a following for awhile-pople would by my poems,signed by me after the shows--i love it--i took a break for awhile--getting ready to go back at it soon--i got one of my poems published in a book and it is in our public library--only took about 40 years to get that done--cheers to ya my friend--joe.

Joe: Check out cowboypoetry.com. I have a few poems and songs on that site. Trouble is, they take about 8 weeks to decide whether to accept or reject your submissions, and you can only send one at a time. Lot's of good stuff on there though. Cheers, Chris

Hey Chris, I''m a tad confused by your review of YOU CALL IT LOVE. You say you liked the voices and it reminded you of a Nancy Sinatra/Lee Hazelwood tune, but the rating numbers were pretty low compared to what we normally have gotten for this song. It would help if there had been more constructive criticism. I respect your opinion. Bobby

We're Stevie Nicks fans! "If Ever I Call You Friend", is pretty close to being our favorite! This tune was not one of her strongest, despite how well it did sales-wise.........we have a philosophy about paying homage to great artists and so over the years we have recorded a 'handful' of covers out of respect to the original artist...when I joined b-jam 6 years ago I asked Roy his philosophy on covers and got the green light to record them from him! In answer to 'why' you're rating it, I can't answer that because you already did it! Hindsight being 20-20, many listeners and reviewers have indicated that Kristin did a better job than Stevie, and biased as I am, of course I agree! But if you have any doubts as to the existence of original material, I invite you to check the various top 10's as we currently have several, particularly in the jazz, latin and other categories...a few months back, our grandson Jovanny (age 5 when he recorded it) had #1 with "I'm Feeling Old" on the 'world' and pop categories, and daughter Brooke appears in the classical charts regularly....
Just received a #1 in Europop moments ago,,life is good!
