Hi there, Cindy, so glad you liked Porch Swing. There is a story behind that song. Mary Sauls, the Porch Swing lady, was one of the first friends I made when we moved to the small town of Callahan, FL. She invited me to sit on her porch swing and get acquainted...and it began a friendship that lasted for many years. She finally passed away at age 97. We built a house called Porch Swing Place, with a porch swing on the front porch (in honor of Mary). Her legacy lives on. One of my CD's is called Porch Swing and there's a picture of me and Mary inside. I love singing that song and telling that story in my senior shows. Mrs. Kate
That's awesome Kate. I have a soft spot in my heart for seniors. I was a live in caregiver for my mom who just passed away Jan30th this year. She was 102. I'm a certified activities coordinator for older adults and use that when I'm a caregiver. Have done sing alongs for older adults which was a lot of fun.I so admire what you do. I have a feeling you and I have some things in common. We both want to bring some joy and compassion to others.You are so needed for so many people. Let me thank you for them.
