So a Christmas song with 160 plays, no reviews and no playlists is #1 in the Earth chart, the North America Chart, the United States chart and 5 others in April. Everything is normal in Broadjam world then............................
Dear Bob Bentley, Let the Good Times Roll, with that kind of LUCK!! Wink, Wink, Nod, Nod... I just had to write that reply sorry!! Hee Hee!! Art Corey
I actually gave 5 stars to that Xmas song (which is pretty damn good for the genre), not sure it deserves the top of the podium though. Some people pay for promotion so I guess that helps songs to reach the BJ skies
There's nothing wrong with the song David, just how things work on here at the moment! Not just the top of one podium, top of 7 podiums, for a song most people are most unlikely to play in late April. The charts have long been a mystery to me, and they're not getting any easier to understand. However, it seems that now those who pay for song promotions automatically dominate the whole shebang, it's not particularly subtle and has simply undermined any kudos there once was for getting chart places. Let The Good Times Roll indeed Art!
Hi Greg, thanks for the stars for Trees. I really appreciate your support as always. Bob
Many thanks for the stars for Trees Mrs Kate. May need more, we've got branches everywhere!!
Hi Junior, Thanks for the 5 stars for Trees, much appreciated from someone I totally respect in such matters. A genuine question, what did you mean in your message by "Piano is a little untreated for me" now I'm intrigued? Lacking in sparkle, dull? Cheers, Bob
Hi ya pal, Was away for a few days. Sounds a little untreated/dry, perhaps a little more presence in terms of where is sits in the mix. That's just me, you may love it how it is. If it ticks your box then it's good. You take care m8. J out.
That makes sense Junior. Many thanks. Bob
Loved Trees, not sure my email message went through! Mrs. Kate
It did thank you Kate. Thank you for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Keep safe, Bob
Hi George, And again, thank you for the 5 stars, this time for Trees. Always appreciated. Bob
Hi, Thank you so much for the stars for Trees, very much appreciated. Bob
And thank you for the five stars for my Trees Bob!
You're welcome
Thanks for the 5 stars on "Trees" Randal, your support is always appreciated. Bob
Hi Jeana, Hope you are well? Thanks for the stars for Trees, as always I'm grateful for your support. Bob
Hi Bob--Trees is beautiful, you're welcome for the stars. Thanks to you for your support of "Adrift". I'm doing well, hope you and yours are doing good, too. :-)
Thank you for the kind words Jeana. I really was taken by Adrift, so that was easy. I'm fine, my good lady is recovering from a heart attack before Christmas - a slow process. Cheers, Bob
Lots of you kind people have given stars to my new music "Trees" and I have tried to acknowledge you all today. However, the site has been hellish slow to load pages today and some comments have appeared not to go, so I'm not convinced I got to everyone. If I missed you, thanks for your support, it has been tremendous. Bob
and for the stars......
Thank you for the wonderful review of Trees, you are a very generous person Gregory. I'm very grateful for your flattering comments. Bob
Hi Tony, Thank you for the 5 stars for Trees, much appreciated.
Apologies but none of these replies came up as sent on Bjam and were not on your page when I last checked! Still, three thank yous are better than none!
Thanks for the stars for Trees, much appreciated. Bob
Hi Marvin, Thanks for the stars for Trees, much appreciated. Bob
Hi Allison, Thanks for the stars for Trees, much appreciated. Bob
welcome
Hi John, Thanks for the stars for Trees, much appreciated. Bob
Hi Scott, Thanks for the stars for Trees, much appreciated. Bob
Great music Bob, very well done. Scott
Cheers
Many thanks for your review of Trees Shaun. It's very professional, fair and comprehensive. TBH drums are something I seldom give too much thought to, perhaps I should!? I had taken my eye/ear off the percussion because I never intended it as being a major part, to remain in the background. However, if I'm going to do it, I want to do it right, and I'm glad of your feedback. I'll have a critical listen and repair as necessary. I would be interested to know what you think about the piano bridge (at about 02.30), some want it out, some want it in. It's really a hangover of a vocal using the same melody where I needed a different character, designed to be different. I've put an example without the bridge on my Bjam songs if you have time to listen. Both work, both have pros and cons, would love your take on it? Cheers, Bob
Well for what it's worth my friend, the "newest" trimmed version is just splendid, makes much more musical "sense" to me, and what I imagined actually--all listening the first time before the cut on my phone speaker! You are very close IMO... W
Hi Rex, Many thanks for the stars and playlist for Achill Lament, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I did wonder how you'd come by it, just by chance? Been listening to Ashes, a very powerful piece, you'd never guess its not a new track. Cheers, Bob
Hi Bob! I had actually listened to it some months ago, am certain I commented on it favorably at that time, thought I had given it 5 stars, maybe not (?). More recently, when I had mentioned to you I felt I was in good company as a UKSC instrumental finalist, it was because I had noticed that Achill Lament was a finalist last year (I believe it was). This time, as you are one of those folks I need to visit once in a while, I was looking over your tunes and noticed it needed stars (!). So I listened and my suspicions were confirmed. :) Yes, Ashes is 20+ years old, from an 'album' I had attempted using Cakewalk (I have been using Logic these days). I have mostly buried that thing, save for this piece which was perhaps the best of the bunch. Thank you, sir!! Tony, aka 'Rex'
Got you. Many thanks Tony, much appreciated. (I'm still a Cakewalk user after many, many years - it has all I need and I understand it reasonably well now, would hate to have to start again.) Cheers, Bob
Hi Arden, Thanks for the stars on Only Getting High, much appreciated. Bob
Hi Bob, Of course! I enjoyed the listen!
Hi Bob-Thanks again for listening and supporting my music, this time for "Another World". I appreciate your input!
You deserve it Jeana.
Hey Bob! Thanks for the stars on Dreaming Alone, greatly appreciated sir! Warren
Well deserved sir!
Hi Warren--Thanks for listening to "Another World" and the stars. Much appreciated!
Nice job kid!
I didn't realise you had new music out Jeanna until I saw the comments from Warren and John. Have just had a listen to Another World and found it to be right up there with your usual immaculate standard, beautiful and very comforting. I particularly like the feel/dynamics you get into your music, only possible with one instrument if you really know how to play it! I could easily hear this on film or TV Lots of luck with it, Bob
Hi Seth, I found Out Of Touch on the Americana chart and just loved it. It's got everything that I like - and boy is it well performed and produced. Good luck with this fine song, it deserves success. Cheers, Bob Bentley
Hello, Bob! Well, thank you kindly! There are days when I'm not feeling so positive about this whole music biz thing, and then some profoundly kind words appear from a stranger, giving me hope once again. Looking forward to checking out your songs as well! Thanks again and have a great day! -Seth
I share your lack of confidence in the music business Seth, I'm very glad I'm not trying to make a living from it!
