Thanks for your pointed and accurate review of "Painless". I was ambivalent about that song but your comment helped me put my finger on why, exactly. I will put that to use!
You're very welcome
Thanks for your great comment on "Family Man", Tony! "Icarus Rising" has some really nice changes and the sax (or whatever that wind instrument is) is making me wonder if it's a sample or the real deal. It's really complex and just fascinating to listen to this piece.
Thanks Capers You are most welcome. I'm glad you liked "Icarus Rising" - it's quite an old piece (about 7 or 8 months old) but it seems to be in and out of 6 or 7 charts on here from time to time. It's always really nice to hear positive comments. best regards Tony
Thanks for you reviews of my songs "Union County" and the trip-hop instrumental "Con Spire". I will definitely take your advice on the vocal levels in the "Union County" and I appreciate your input on the genre positioning. You're a great pair of reviewers and I'm glad you listened!
Hi Capers.... Well, we really enjoyed our listen...we've listened to three of your cuts so far and no disappointments! Glad our review was helpful. We try to be candid and honest but, likewise, helpful and supportive with our reviews. We will be listening to more of your music...looking forward to it! All the best... Double Trouble, aka Al & Di
Uh...make that "we really enjoyed *YOUR* music...duh!
Hey, thanks for your review of my song "Americans"! I'll definitely take your advice on the rhythm section. I'm a bassist, after all!
It's a great song... A fantastic concept!
Thank you for you great review of "Country of the Blind". Be as picky as you like -- that kind of specific feedback is exactly what we're all looking for!
Matt, another great review of one of my songs: I'LL SHOW HIM WHO'S WHO. Thanks so much.
Gracias for listening to "On My Knees". I probably could dial back the first verse some, and I appreciate you being thorough in your review. Glad you liked it, though!
Thank you for listening to "How the West Was Won". It does need some polishing, and I think it's more suited for a female vocalist, but I'm glad you heard some quality in it.
I liked it very much. Good luck with it.
Hey, your review of "If I Was A Family Man" made my day! You're only 17? This is some interesting stuff you're doing with "On the Run" - get it transcribed and start showing it around, if you're not already, 'cause it's out there. Wishing you the best!
I appreciate you taking the time to review "Spring Forward" -- I freely admit I'm not an expert on Jazz, so I'll definitely consider moving it like you suggested. Nothing wrong with sound like Jethro Tull, though! Glad you liked it.
Thanks for your positive review of "It's Good". I listened to Set Me free -- it got farther in the UK contest than I ever did!
your welcome glad you liked Set me free
Many thanks for your review of my instrumental "Shiver" -- I'll work on that melody!
Thanks for reviewing "Four Letter Lie"; since you're a trained sound tech I suppose you know what you're talking about when you say to tighten the arrangement. I've just had to figure stuff out as I went along, so I learn by making mistakes and getting corrected! Thanks again!
Thanks for your review of "Golden Age"! Glad you liked the song. I'll work on that riff.
Thanks for your honest review of "Armistice Day". Part of me would love having a real drum track, but the other part is dreading setting up the mics on it!
Hello Victor. You reviewed my song New Age song "Ea" recently and in your comments you asked for me to identify myself, so here I am! I'm all over the place as far as genres go, so there's probably not a whole lot I've written that sounds like that song, but it's nice to know that a Jack of all trades like me can achieve something once in a while. I'm glad you enjoyed the song and I'm listening tosome of yours now. I'd say I'm partial to "Summer Wind", and there is a lot of depth to "Tinscent".
Thanks for putting so much thought into your review of my song "Shiver" - I need to get some monitors, I guess, so that frequency separation doesn't keep getting past me.
Hi , You're welcome , kepp up good work , Best ,
Thanks for the review of "When There Is One". I'm not a singer by trade, so you didn't hurt my feelings any. I'm trying to find a vocalist to work with.
I certainly didn't want to hurt your feelings, and I'm sorry if I did. I wanted to be honest and to help you. I wish you much luck with your music career.
Same to you, and don't worry about it; everyone needs feedback to grow.
Thank you for your review of "Spring Forward" and I'll definitely take your advice!
Thanks for your quality review of my song "Cape Town" - it was thorough and honest, but also encouraging, especially so now that I'm seeing its author's pedigree. Wishing you more success and peace.
You're welcome Capers... We're all havin fun here, hope to hear more of your songs in my reviews.
Thanks for the thought you put into your review of my song "Lois Lane". Wish there were more like you!
Many thanks for your review of my song "Thunder and Light"! You remind me of Leonard Cohen in "Sister", though perhaps a bit more earnest and less tongue-in-cheek than old Lenny can get.
Thanks Capers...I would never behold myself unto Cohen, but appreciate your compliment :D
I've never been so grateful for such a mixed review as you gave "Loser In Los Angeles". I really appreciate the thought and effort you put in and I'll take your suggestions seriously. Thanks so much!
Thanks for your review of "Leaving It Broken"! I appreciate the feedback and the thought you put into it. I'm still trying to find that sweet spot for the vocals. I probably need some good monitors instead of mixing in headphones.
I liked the track. Set the limiter and crank up the vocals. It is very hard to mix in phones. you need some good close reference monitors. You got the sound. Did you do all the production too?
Thanks for your review of "My Babylon" -- I'll take your suggestions and put them to good use!
Thanks for all the thought you put into your review of my song "Let's Make A Deal". I'll definitely use the advice.
You're welcome Capers.. Best wishes to you and your love ones..
Thanks for the review of "Union County"! If you don't mind me asking, how long after you got your songs licensed did you wait to see them played, and when did you find out they'd use them?
Good question. It depends what Music Library placed them and what the arrangement was. I got paid relatively quickly with ABC & NBC placements and the Top notch Cable opps......but those people file their cue sheets on time with my PRO. And others aren't so quick.......you really have to do some people's work for them. Some I have reeived no money from placements in 2009.
Thanks for the info.
Thanks for your positive review of "Cape Town". I needed a little boost like that right now and to see that it was an actual Caribbean like you who liked it is pretty cool!
you welcome anytime.
Many thanks for your review of my instrumental. I may even use the title you suggested - "Raptor". I like it!
I heard your song "Rail" while reviewing submissions and I typed in every lyric individually until I found your song. Fantastic job. I hope you win that one even if it meas I lose it.
aint you sweet. thank you kind sir. you have an incredibly lovely voice, and from the couple i listened to, great songs to boot. well met capers, well met.
Thanks for your review of "Romeo and Juliet Are Dead"! You guys sound great, though Supercollider wouldn't be what passes for "Pop", nowadays.
