Hi Delta, you hit the nail on the head with your critique , and thanks for your lovely review! Yes, you did hear drums, and no, I couldn't afford a backup singer.....as for my voice, it will always be rough :D, but I think the pitch was there. We recorded live with two Roland Edirols in an old home as an experiment...not too bad for doing it on the cheap, haha!

Wednesday.....I have to let my ears do the work when I review because I have no tech skills to give someone advise on things in a song. Did you write your song....I have not tried for song writing...I just pay the man at the studio to get my music happening. I am luck that the man is brilliant and can ware a pile of hats......annnnd I can't do harmony with out a lot of help.......we all just do the best we can....are we friends? Be mine please!

Hi. "Methadone Dream" received a great review from you and I thank you for that. It was based on a real life situation that I took poetic license with , don't know whatever happened to the couple but hope they made it through their trials and tribulations.

Dave thanks sooh much for your great review of my "Killing Me " agree 100% with you ,I recorded it at The Soundgallery and the engineer had masses of gear and tweaked the harmonies incredibly well i remember on first playback i burst out laughing saying it sounds like the Von Katon Family Singers ! ha ha, I just turned 65 last 11/02/14 and hope to redo it there again, it was actually written as a male female duet so you hit the nail on the head ! please look up my experimental instrumental version of it on my profile ,rather messey but had great fun with it Blessings JK Exeter Devon )0( )0(

Hi Jon, thanks for your nice review of "Methadone Dream". Yes, haha, I'm always a bit rough around the vocal edges...character voice....so I'll never be able to match the smoothness of the musicians. I have fun writing and recording though :D

Hi Larry, "Move Along With It All" has a nice, gentle flow to it which is augmented by your voice. It's a simple tune with simple lyrics but sometimes that's what good songs are made of (Hank Williams for example). Loved the harmonica and picking.

Hey Larry, you got me again. Glad you liked Porch Swing. I am on tour right now and YES I sing it a lot, especially at my shows for senior citizens. As you may well imagine, there is a story that goes along with the song. Wish I had the time to tell you about the Porch Swing Lady. Tonight I played at the Collier County Library down in Naples, FL. Nice gig! God bless you and hope we meet on BJ again. Mrs. Kate

Hi Larry...thanks for your extremely positive review of "Borderline". I'm very lucky as was able to gather some ace musicians to do this...the guitar player, Les Cornell, is classically trained but able to put his ear and soul to anything. I might shop it to some NPR stations but I've been so busy I haven't had time to concentrate on this project. Hoping to hear you soon!!!!

OH ya, forgot to add that in Methadone Dream, the chorus seems really personal because of the mention of Jesus, but that's because despite these junkie's addictiions they both maintained christianity as their religion. I thought it was kinda weird, but whatever, so figured if J-Man was going to come to them he'd do better just coming as a ordinary looking guy instead of one in flowing robes. Haha, you prob don't remember the song :D

Hi Superband...really get a kick out of your name D. Thanks for reviewing "Methadome Dream"....ya, it was based on a true story from a time i lived in the shelters, so in the tradiition of folk it tells a story. I see the recording didn't grab you, which isn't unusual, it was done live on two Roland Edirols (us folk alternatives always looking at different ways to record :) ). The song is pretty well cemented so there's no going back now but do appreciate your input !!!!

Hi John and thanks for reviewing "Lovely Loon"...now you know what a Canadian loon sounds like (on two fronts :D ). On the CD there is a First Nations myth narrated about how the look got her spots by helping a blind man, and this was interwoven into the song. I don't know about the commercial vitality of the song either as folk doesn't merit much attention, however, it did win merit on the CBC, ABC and NPR stations. Good luck with your endeavors!!! Thanks again.

Hi Phil...thanks for the review of my song "New Mexico" which you entitled "Purple Vision". It's an old song from the late 90's and had it's hayday on NPR, CBC and the Australian Broadcasting Corp.. Vocal style is vocal style so whether notes are slid up to or hit bang on is subjective to one's preference; I find it more feedback more useful if preference is stated. But good luck with your stuff, rock on and all that kind of good stuff.

Hey Kara, thanks for reviewing "Methadone Dream". We recorded live with two Roland Edirols..it was the big experiment. I doubt we'll record again with what is considered 'proper' studio equipment...after all, that's part of what folk-alternative movement is all about - to get as far away from the 1% as possible :D

Hey Kate, thanks for reviewing "Stand in Pride". I wrote about this song in reaction to all the bullying that goes on. the vocal are me (female with low alto to tenor) and yes, they get very strained, we'd been recording live and by the time we got to this one I'd had it, but, decided to put it up as a 'song' not a vocal showcase :D. As for Jesus, there are many different teachings and interpretations on the homosexuality bit, the most infamous being Leveticus where there are strong contradictions , some saying it's wrong, others saying it's right....perhaps Leveticus was confused? I don't really want to enter debate on this, i live my life as a First Nations woman (Canadian Native Indian) and two-spirits (gays) held a place of honour in the tribe.

Interesting to read your review of "The Lonestar", which you decided should be called "Baby You" when those lyrics aren't even in there. Oh ya, and what's with putting KILLILLUMINATI in both comment boxes....what, you think you're the only one who knows about the Illuminati? Anyways, the song and CD did very well on NPR, Canada, Australia and Northern Europe, thank you very much. As well the musicians you rated as '3' played for people like k.d. lang, Tina Turner, Brian Adams, Spirit of the West, yadda yadda....so as you see I can't take your review seriously ..... where's your 'one love' on this?
