Thank You for the review. And this song was just a trial run for me. I am more of a musician and Artist then a rapper so I believe your review was cool. but to know it has potential I will take it into my studio and re-do it in a cutting edge fashion.

It does have an Old School feel. Exactly what I was going for on the creative side of things. Today's music is not as great as ours was in the past. Thank You for the review I appreciate your advice.

Thank You for your comments on Love Slave-The Instrumental. And you are right on your review. It is a rough draft and I am the hand that played the piano as well as all the parts to my song, working on the finished piece now.

Thank You For The Feedback. Glad that you can feel this. You are right about the Cameo Feel. Love this group as well as all the Funkateers as they are so deservingly called. Parliament/Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins George Duke, The Barkays, Prince, Rick James, The Dazz Band, One Way just to name a few. and actually the song has more to it as well. Would love to stay in contact with you. hope to be a friend and a fan of yours as well.

Thank You for your input on this particular song. And you are right I was definitely putting a Parliament/Funkadelic twist to it. One of my favorite artist and groups. This song was an experimental piece. But I will go back in to revise it but yet keep an innovative and creative perspective on it as well to see where it will go. God Bless you and your endeavors and Happy New Year To You as Well.

Good point, I think that's a good suggestion to have the sax solo again instead of the organ.

Thanks for the review, it is always helpful. The song was written by my wife's grandfather back in the 1930s. It is being sung to the 4th generation. It never had music, so for legacy purposes, here it is.

Hi Mark, yes I did have a chance finally to listen and you have a very eclectic style. I feel your music can touch the subliminal part of a person by feeding them the word in a very non-obtrusive way. Keep on praying and writing for there are many people to reach in order to spread the gospel and as believers in Christ we have to provide many ways to reach them through music.

God Bless You

Thanks. Chris for the comment and I appreciate it and I will work on the Mastering. Believe it or not this raw track of Farewell My Love was done. At my portable home studio and not fully completed. So that is a bet.

Pros: Nice song concept, sweet talking narrative from a man over a track saying goodbye to his woman. Actually, once you get through the arrangement and production, there are the makings of a good song. This reminds me of Exile, Teddy P, Stylistics, etc. Obviously, the writer is writing from a very personal point of view and demonstrates a lot of passion and caring in the song. Because of the passion, you can almost hear what the writer/producer was hearing in his head.

Production Cons: Although it is a heartfelt song, which is admirable, it needs a lot of work to be primetime.....Obviously, the song is not fully produced as you mentioned. With that said, I will help head some of the production direction off at the pass.....The cymbal programming is inconsistent and needs work. At 6 seconds it drifts off the beat and continues on and off through the song. Needs to be re-cut as it's distracting and clearly not quantized. It doesn't need to be quantized to be good, but it does have to be played well.....Vocals are buried by reverb. Sounds like it was recorded that way too as the pitch is all over the place and it seems the singer was given a false sense of security during the recording. Re-record it without verb in the phones. If it was recorded without reverb, then pitch correct the track. Singer has good tone, but needs to work on pitch. The falsetto runs simply miss the mark and need to be re-considered or rehearsed.....The thunder claps and rainstorm seem very out of place and used randomly. I would lose these....Lots of editing improvements are needed, such as the one at 2:44 where signal clips and second singer comes in a much higher volume. Another one at 6:04.

Writing Cons: It's hard to pull this talking concept off as it's a very dated one, especially when there is no melodic hook. I walk away from this without a melody to hum or words to sing. It seems to go on and on without ever coming back to a memorable hook...And at 7:25, it won't get consideration for airplay. Need to bring it to 3 - 4 minutes and leave the listener with something to sing. Something memorable that reflects the passion and the reason it was written.

My recommendation: Find an experience writer and producer who you're comfortable working with. An experienced writer will help develop the song structure. An experienced producer will take this to a whole new level and enable you to deliver what you are hearing in your head. You have a good concept, but need to get some studio and writing time under your belt. I am confident that once you get 20 or 30 songs in the can you will be in another league.
Hope this helps and I've love to hear your next version.
Best of luck,

Roy
