Thanks Marla. I stumbled on your page by accident and loved the songs. I've written more for my kids since they've grown up than I did when they were little. "He's My Hero" is for my sons and "I'll Take It From Here" is for my daughter.

Hi, Kate,
Thanks for your kind review. You made my day! I just listened to a few snippets of your tunes -- most charming Americana flavor. You have taken over the Broadjam Top Ten, with good reason!

Just listened to Homeless Man - another great song. So you're an ES teacher....that's cool...How DO you find the time? I was a sub once upon a time...now am f/t musician and pastor's wife. The 2 callings plus being a g'ma keep me so busy. Hope we can connect again, Maria. Glad to know you! Mrs Kate

Thanks, Kate! Actually, I'm retired now, but still busy! We have custody of 7 nieces and nephews, so we have NO time!

o my goodness, what a HUGE responsibility. What happened to their parents???

Their mom died of Leukemia at age 44. She never went to the doctor because she was afraid that her husband would seek another wife if she was no longer healthy enough to have babies! The father was arrested for beating the children. He never allowed them to go to school, and they were underfed and flithy as well.

Now the children are much healthier and happy and doing well in school. They have all been in therapy and will probably go back to the therapist at some point. We have been in therapy, too! But after 2 1/2 years of living here, you can see that the kids are thriving, thank the lord.

wow, marla, I am sure that you are an amazing woman. I truly admire you for taking on this huge responsibility. Are you a Christian? I am. Is the dad still in jail? Does he see his kids? Never allowed them to go to school....that's strange. Busy day ahead, hope I get to hear from you again. Mrs Kate PS my gigs went well yesterday...God gave me a voice....it was rough but I made it.
