Returning to Broadjam after a few years and heard your "Dance of the Autumn Leaf Fairy" in the ShowDown. That was a breath of fresh air so came to your page. Most impressed. I hope this leads to great things for you. Given the time of year, Happy Holidays to you and family
Hi Simon, thank you for your review of "Milkway drive". The song is classified "Unique - Soundtrack" and is part of my compositions for movies and multi-media I'm writing. It's also the overtoure of a project about transhumance that I will publish in the next few months.
Thanks for the review of "Washing Machine Music". As you spotted it was a bit of fun around the noises that the washing machine makes. Surprisingly popular at the time though
Just reviewed a tune of yours my brother. Loved it. Grat Michael Buble' style and vocal tone. "Baby that's How I know" All the best my talent friend.
Hello. Thank you for the review of the tranced up Bach muddley (sic). It was a little bit of fun that got some nice feedback. Your song Listen is lovely I hope that gets heard by the right people soon.
Belated Happy Birthday. Been preoccupied with the day job and before I knew it we'd fallen out of Aries. With best wishes.
Haven't been on broadjam for a while and can't figure out from the comments how your wrist is doing. I hope you are getting mend Ok; I have no idea how long it takes to get how much better but thinking of you. I'll share an amusing moment with you to help cheer you up if necessary. I wanted to emulate Wendy Carlos and made a "Switched On" Scarlatti sonatta (although she doesn't like to discuss it, possibly after some cruel comments in later years I think, she was originally born Walter). My realisation of K492 in that style is now in the broadjam FEMALE top 10. So have I made the grade with an honorary gender change? Yay WIN! Hope you are back to full health soonest. PS as far as I can tell no structural changes
Hi Blob_B,the old wrist is improving, I had a bad complex fracture but it is healing slowly.I am experiencing upper arm ,painful spasms or cramping when I move my arm certain ways but I'm seeing the doc today and maybe he can advise and explain things...Probably just part of the process...Hey I really like that piece, good energizing swirling adventure and it did cheer me up.Made me chuckle it made female top ten..Yes you made an honorary gender change mysteriously! Thanks for checking up on me and keep creating! :)
Xrays were good today so I'm happy :)
Excellent news and thank you for all those stars.
You are very welcome! :)
Doh! Maybe I didn't type it in the right box and I should hve typed here. Let me try that again. Thanks for the review of the "Switched on Scarlatti". Yes indeed dated as I was trying to emulate Wendy from 1969 i think it was. Can't really take the originality cudos but thanks all the same.
*it was sent to Andrew - one day I will learn to type
Hi David, Thanks v much for your helpful and encouraging review of my song "Do you remember" which I wrote for my parents who have since both passed on. I will delete the MP3 on my account and search out the full version at 4.20 seconds. I was really impressed with instrumental version of "I can see it in your eyes". Outstanding guitar playing and very evocative. Get marketing and see if a Music library will use it for a film!
Hi David, Just to let you know that I have now 're-loaded' up "DO YOU REMEMBER" which has a 5minute 11 second version on there. Have played it and it does not cut out! Thanks very much for letting me know about that! This song I recorded years ago (about 10!) Using Cubase and have long lost all the Cubase editing files! I now use Logic Pro which is a heck of a lot more stable than Cubase. I will be sending off this track to SCAMP STUDIO for them to re-record for me around September. They work closely with The Guild of International Songwriters & Composers and their re-arrangements + re-recordings are usually top knotch! I am not a bad player but have not really focused on being a great player because I have too many other interests. Last year I wrote a geo-political forensic thriller (first in a trilogy) am now busy on second draft. have secured the help of an established writer called Adam LeBor as a mentor and hope to obtain a literary agent some time in 2015! Good Luck with your own music, you have an impressive portfolio and some great songs! Cheers amigo Dave Austin (aka "UNGRATEFUL DAVE" my Brighton based stage name!)
Hi Dave. Glad you got the download fixed and thank you for your kind comments regarding my songs. I am familiar with SCAMP because a friend of mine, who lives nearby, Alan Rogers uses their services. Alan's songs are also on Broadjam. Best of luck. David
I don't see a thank you form me for the review of Washing Machine Music. Apologies for that I've been rather pre-occupied with the day job. Let me fix that and say "thank you" now.
That's OK. Not to worry. It seemed as if the message had gone to the wrong person. I received a mis-directed message from someone else recently. I wonder whether it is an IT problem. If so Broadjam should be told because potentially there could be something confidential or embarrassing in a message that a third party shouldn't see. David
Hello David. It was sent to David and is showing when i go to his home page. And hey look it's on your page too. If I didn't know better i'd think Broadjam had outsourced their software development :-)
doh! Horsholm is the district. There are probably many Birkerods in Copenhagen but you got my drift I'm sure.
Hallo again Blob B, I have no idea what went wrong with my comment below. I was trying to explain how to get the o with the dash on a Mac keybord, I will not try that again. There is only one Birkerod in Denmark - my brother went to school there. Horsholm is posher.
Wow, now my comment below has changed: the explanation has been replaced with Wild Hyoties. Sorry about that.
Thank you for cudos on The Fridge (although I do like Jungle Jumble as an alternative) and I can see why it might have clicked with you. Loved your material here. Incidentally I work with a colleague from Birkerod (with the lien through if I knw how) in my day job. Small planet isn't it :-)
Hallo Blob B, you are veery welcome, I really like the piece. I will have to listen to it again to hear The Fridge in it. I'm glad you like my material, I hope you listen to all my songs. To get the letter Ã' you press option and o. (on a Mac). My brother went to gymnawium in Birkerød. There are Danes everywhere.
Andrew. Thank you for your review of 'Arabian Dream'. You're correct that the tune is written for film/TV. Regards. David
Thanks for the review of the "Switched on Scarlatti". Yes indeed dated as I was trying to emulate Wendy from 1969 i think it was. Can't really take the originality cudos but thanks all the same.
Made it!! I said I wanted to emulate Wendy Carlos with my "Switched on Scarlatti" and Broadjam has given me a sex change. I'm in the female Top 10. WTF? :-)
Thanks for the very appropriate review on Challenge. It was meant to be reminiscent of those boppy instrumentals you always got on an Alan Parsons Project album but based on everyones feedback the production could be better. Good to see you are still here and active. I hope the world is being good for you. Warmest wishes, Blob
Thanks so much for the review.......looking at the photos of you at the piano....dude you have amazing posture, the best ive seen :)
Thanks for the review.
OUCH!! I hope you are coping as well as you can and it is not hurting too much. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery, with big (careful) hugs
thanks dear blob_b...appreciate your good wishes and careful hugs :)
Thanks for the very appropriate review of Challenge. I fully agree with your comments too.
hi Blob--I'm not Ken, but thank you for your review of my classical attempt Desert Sands piece. You are correct in that there are obviously no real instruments but thank you for all 5's based on the composition and ideas...all the best, Warren Hein
You're going to wonder aren't you? Your composition reminded me of pieces by Kenneth LaVone who is here at Briadjam. Hopefully you will see that as the compliment I intended if you check out his music. I'm sure you will be getting many more very positive reviews back on that composition.
Just got an Eigenharp. Only a Pico but an awesome instrument none the less
Your fascination with household appliances and food is somewhat concerning sir Blob? But I must say, You have some very creative compositions.
They tried to make me go to rehab but .. .. oh hang on that's been done :-) Glad you enjoyed the music, thanks
Hi Kate: Thanks for the kind review of "Show Me A Miracle". It's appreciated! Greg
Thanks for the review of the "Switched on" Scarlatti and glad you enjoyed it. Only tardy in saying thanks because my house is fallin' down.We had a burst pipe that made a lot of mess but all sorted now but not been online while that was going on. Good to see you are still going strong. Peace and Love, Blob
Thanks for the considerred and very appropriate review of the "Switched on Scaralatti". I was trying to emulate Wendy Carlos but with Domenico's music rather than JSB. You are the second person to remark on the shizophrenia in this arrangement so I shall think on that, thanks. Your music here is fabulous and I shall definitely be back for a proper listen when the day job eases up a bit. Thanks again and have a terrific 2014.
I'm also looking forward to listening to more of your great compositions.
Thanks for the glowing review of the "Switched on Scarlatti". Obviously not an original composition so I can't take the points for that but it was an attempt to emulate Wendy Carlos (from the 70s) and I am very pleased that you enjoyed the arrangement. Your Celtic sound was teriffic; I listened to several songs. I hope your music is well received in this Happy New Year.
Your very welcome and it was kind of you to give a listen to my work. It is far different from your work, but I love Renaissance music so I get out of my box every now and then to give a listen too something different and often I am not disappointed that I did. I am a friend in music
Blob_B I really like your Washing Machine Music!!!! Other songs are VERY cool...Thanks for the high rating on BB....Happy New Year! DEBBY
Thanks. That one was quite popular all round. Challenge wasn't so well received here but I like Alan Parsons' (Dr Evil gesture) instrumentals so glad you enjoyed it a little too. Did you try "Something Fishy" by any chance? That is in quarter tone so sounds VERY fishy at first? If you are that adveturous and don't know of it yet I'd recommend Wendy Carlos' Beauty in the Beast for a unique experience
I enjoyed it a lot!!!! :) "Something Fishy" is something strange but goood!!
Thanks for the kind review of by "bubble gum synth" track. Some lovely material here as evidenced by all the positive comments. I hope 2014 is a teriffic year for you.
. . . and then listen to this track. Is still a personal favourite from all my time on Broadjam
Sharing some Love for this Genesis cover
Just popped by and listened to Freedom Fighter. Really enjoyed and thought brilliant use of the stereo field. Hoppe you are well and best wishes for 2014
Hey Blob_B, thanks for the words of encouragement! You have a great 2014 too! Atb, Katy
Remembering your lovely compositions I just popped by. I hope the world is being good and Iwish you and family Happy Holidays and a brilliant 2014.
Thanks Blob.
Merry Christmas to you and yours Blob. Hope you are having fun with your music. I put a couple of things on Youtube lately, do a search for me there.
Found you in the music machine metadata databases. So glad it's going so well. Have a brilliant Christmas and exceptional 2014
Thanks mate! All the best to you too. :)
