Superb music

hi terhi, thanks for the review of Shed My Skin. I appreciate you listening and your comments. The song is a bit of an anomaly for me, being country flavoured, so I'll take the results for what they are, and stick to my more pop/rock self. I was listening to a few of your songs and liked them very much. good luck, peter

Hey, am totally new to this reviewing business, but think it's a really good way of interacting with other musos and hearing some ace stuff out there. Thanks for your feed back! ;-) have a great day! terhi

Hi Steve, thanks for your review of Promises. Catchy choruses indeed... like they say in French "c'est pas evident" (roughly translated, it's not obvious... but it works better in French. I was checking out your tunes... very good indeed. Charming, I'd say. Cheers, peter

thanks for the review of Overdrive... haven't gotten around to lyrics yet, and I might never... it was just a riff I couldn't stop playing... so I thought I would record it! I was checking out your tunes... fuck yeah! nice stuff... kicking ass... keep it up. cheers, peter

Thanks for checking out our stuff. I'm glad you like it. Overdrive has real possibilities. Keep it up.

hi earl, thanks for your review of I Wish. I'm still working and improving on my production, so I appreciate any pointers in that direction. I was going a bit wild with panning a little while ago, so maybe I pulled back to much. I listened to your stuff and your sound is awesome. Live drums? Project studio or bigger than that? thanks peter

Hi Terese. Thanks for your review of I Wish and your kind words. I was listening to your stuff and you have an amazing and beautiful voice. A lot of us would love to spend our days making music (and money). I wish us all a lot of luck! Keep on making music... cheers. peter

Thanks Peter that's lovely to hear!! Same and happy new year!!

Hey Emergency Exit. Thanks for your review of Overdrive, and your kind words. I was checking out your tunes and was very impressed. Your songs are amazing and unique! If I had one bit of advice for practicing a tight rythmn section, try to synchronize every bass drum hit to a bass note... if you are listening to each other and trying to do that, you'll hear the tunes really take off! All the best, peter bowering

Hi there. thanks for your review of Overdrive. I do hope the band was tight, because that's me doing everything (no computers either). The tune is kind of dumb and catchy, AND repetitive, since it was recorded with a specific use for short clips... so I tried to keep it simpel and let them pick their favourite 30 seconds. But your comments are right on, and if I add lyrics and turn it into a real song, I will be using your comments.
BTW, what is your relationship to Donathen? It is a good thing that you are doing... his music is good and should be heard. good luck, peter

Peter!! What a review of my song "I can take you"!!! I must say you went above & beyond your call duty as a reviewer:))) I thank you for your professionalism & the right on comments that I will definitely apply on my next arrangement wich we have actually started:p I will def. suggest to the guitarist that accoustic feel!! You are so thorough in your review ..you humble me really! You \m/ Peter:))!

Hi Tanya. Thank you for your kind words, and for taking my suggestions in the spirit intended. You are an awesome singer and talent, and if I can be at all useful, that is great. Look forward to hearing more stuff from you (and I did check out your dancy stuff... really fun!) My wife is from Syria and used to spend her summers in Beirut, and her stories about how beautiful it was before the war inspired me to write a song about how cities rise and fall. Just finished a video for that song... would be interested in how you see it.

Hi tanya, thanks for listening and your kind words. Yes there are pictures and movies of Beirut I found on the web. some awful war footage, shooting and stuff, but also some beautiful footage from before the war (50's and 60's). I was inspired to write the song by the Beirut story, but it also made me think of other cities who had gone similar things, like London during WWII, and Detroit in the past 10 years and today. the Dresden reference is also from WWII, when the German city was bombed relentlessly at the end of the war, as a punishment because there was no military stuff there. But they rebuilt it brick by brick... amazing. Also loved the great footage of today's Beirut, and the cable car shot... nice. thanks, peter

Thank you Peter for acknowledging Lebanon's past, good & bad! Very noble of you to help people remember history all over the world..hopefully mankind, through remeberance, learns not to make the same mistakes!! Great job on the song & the video and a beautiful message for the new year! Cheers!

thanx much Peter for your review of 20/20 To Costa Rica, my producer and musician is from Oshawa Ontario Canada, so that must be why it was produced that well...LOL...though the ideas and song of course is all mine, and that's supposed to be a SA marimba, close enough, and again, thanx much, as that's me singing, and i'm OLD as crap! your phrasing comment is spot on, some of it intentional, some the best i could do, i usually only do 1 take...
all the best to you, and thanx again

Hi Robert, I think the muddy comment points to struggles I've been having with getting the bass frequencies right... how to get enough bass, and tight bass... I'm still looking for the magical frequency to push... any ideas?
Love your guitar on Atomic!

Thanks, Peter, for your comment on Atomic Luncheonette. I'm pretty good at recognizing mud, but maybe not the best person to ask about how best to deal with it. Production isn't my strong point, but working on it. I have a few ideas, but there are probably more streamlined ways to get there.

cool. I like the comment about the music dropping out in the bridge to chorus... I know how to fix that. I also added secondary musical parts to keep the interest up, but maybe they aren't loud enough? I will re-mix and see if I can improve it. that's what it's all about, right? cheers
peter

hi phil. I'm new to Broadjam and reviewing, so I hope the review was helpful. I felt a bit foolish after questioning the "oriental" flavour of the guitar, and THEN finding out the tune was called Chinatown at Night. doh! anyways, the more I listened to it, the more I like the flavour, so good on ya! cheers, peter
