Hi Michael, Thanks for your review of my plain instrumental "Let's Say we're sorry". It was meant to be a very basic background type of song say for a commercial or a movie. For something with lyrics, solo etc you may want to check out one of my other numbers 'Wise Woman". I loved your "c'mon baby" song. The rhythm section is smoking and the accordion was fantastic. Interesting review of our tune, SATISFIED MIND. Fortunately, you are in the minority in terms of the mix as this song has made a nupmber of top tens, But we will llsten again just to make sure about the guitar. Thanks for giving us your opinion.
It is a very good song which I am sure is why it has been well received. The vocal is right on top of the mix where it should be. It could be a much better mix though if the low end were cleaned up and the piano solo was louder. I have been a recording/mastering engineer for more than 25 years and I know I can be on the critical side when it comes to recordings. I did not mean to offend in any way, only to point out where where I saw room for improvement... Don't know what you have for plugins but multiband compression could help the acoustic guitar. It's clashing with the bass in the 200-300hz range. a few dB of gain reduction in this area and roll off below 60 Hz would really clean things up...
