A native of St. Louis, Bam relocated to Chicago in late 2003 to pursue a career in film and television production. A graduate of Southern Illinois University, Bam got his degree in cinema and photography with the intent to direct music videos and short films. But things took an interesting turn when a friend introduced him to music production. Armed with nothing but Fruity Loops and a shady ass desktop he began to spend hours churning out beats and writing rhymes to fit.
Though writing is nothing new to Bam, (he wrote his first rhyme when he was 13) the music helped elevate his mind to a whole new plateau. After so many years of rapping in dead end groups, dealing with shady producers and getting involved with no good independent labels, he finally figured he not only knew what it would take to make it, but now he had all the tools.
Truly inspired by Chicago heros Common, Kanye, Twista, and a slew of other artists, Bam turned down an offer to move to LA and decided to stay in the Chi to give one final push with his music. ?Why not me??, he asks casually. ?Why not??
Adding his twist on the wild world of music, Bam plans to show all that he and his culture are still evolving? ?It?s been a lot of garbage being put out over the last decade or so. It?s time to get back to the real. Music. I just wanna? do my part before it?s all over.?
