In 2006, Anastasia Gilliam & her band, the VooDoo Suns were recognized by the Hawaii Academy of Recording Artsists as one of the Most Promising New Artists, Best Group, Best Songwriters, Best Producers & Favorite Entertainers of the Year.
Their highly acclaimed debut CD release "Songs from the Haleakala Kitchen" was nominated for the 2006 Hawaiian Na Hoku Hanohano Award for BEST ORIGINAL ROCK ALBUM.
In 2005 they were voted the BEST ROCK & ROLL BAND on Maui 2005.

Anastasia's latest CD "Slip Beneath the Covers" Vol. 1 was released on Dec. 15, 2007. Its a collection of cover tunes performed as acoustic duets on guitar & piano.

Anastasia Gilliam
Anastasia is a gifted and accomplished singer/songwriter recently voted 1st runner up as "BEST MUSICIAN on MAUI." Her band the VooDoo Suns voted "BEST ROCK BAND" on MAUI 2005. Their debut album "Songs from the Haleakala Kitchen" was nominated for the Na Hoku Hanohano Award "BEST ROCK ALBUM" of 2006 by the Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts.
She is currently working on a few new musical projects. She intends to release a follow-up CD with the VooDoo Suns as well as produce a CD of her favorite cover tunes (R&B, Jazz, Rock & Blues) together with some of her favorite musicians.
Anastasia is passionate about her craft. Initially, she developed a unique approach to maintain her own body-instrument in order to meet the needs of her incredibly demanding schedule. Deeply moved by her own experiences, she became driven to share with others the uplifting and profoundly healing experience of singing when combined with yoga and dance. She developed "Sing the Body-Instrument" as a unique and fun way for people to tap into her knowledge and experience and to share some of the things she has learned throughout her career.
Practicing yoga since early childhood, she became certified to teach Integral Hatha Yoga in 2001.
In addition to performing & teaching Anastasia began volunteering her spare time to Mana'o Radio 91.5 FM in 2003. She's involved with supporting the station through fund raisers & sits in as guest celebrity DJ on the first Saturday of each month. (10am - 2pm Maui Time)
