Don't Stop

They are new. They are raw. And they are highly ambitious. Cab Driver are four musical self made men who started making music together back at school. This summer they released their first own album “Don’t stop” – a musical product which really is from one source. Cab Driver hold their own studio and the band’s lead singer Reno Rock is at the same time producer of the record. Cab Driver’s musical history is as manifold as their present style: Singer Reno once loved Hip-Hop, while drummer Denis Ronta and bassist Thomas “Sky” Jones started playing on stage in a Croatian rock band. No wonder that “Don’t Stop” is versatile in the word’s most professional sense – but don’t worry: It is rock which is dyed in the wool. It all begins with a wild scream: “Gasoline!” followed by fast guitar rhythms with just the right level of effects. The album’s opener is powerful rock with wild lyrics. This motif is picked up by “Coming Home” which is dominated by Johnny Weber’s solo on the lead guitar and by strong lyrics. Their interplay sounds like a greeting to Cab Driver’s audience: “Here we are, music-world, up on stage. You won’t forget these songs.” But Cab Driver can do it the soft way, too. “Time goes by” sounds melancholic, the ballad “Don’t let it rain” is deeply empathetic while loneliness and bitterness inherence “You and me”. True rock could not be more sensible….“Don’t sop” should be a definite for fans of handmade guitar music. For all the rest it is the easy-listening version of raw rock: Melodic sounds meet catchy lyrics. Traditional guitar solos meet soft and gentle elements, a small portion of crossover completes what is the perfect end of a hard working day: If one turns up the speakers with Cab Driver music he has found the right company for every evening, no matter how the day’s mood is.
