Hello All!
I am conducting a study in the Madison Area as a student at Madison Media Institute.
I would like opinions on a project I am working on to develop a studio/practice area for bands and artists in the Madison area.
I am basically seeking to get an idea if this project would be of interest to local groups and if anyone would benefit from this experience or if it would help the local scene to grow and build a community off of this new venture.
I welcome all comments to gauge the popularity or necessity of this project.
Thank you all have a great holiday season!

Here is the idea...
A complex (around 24 rooms) where artists and bands can go to practice whenever they want with 24/7 access. It would be gated entrance with a number key code or an electric opener to open the gate each band/band member could have.
Enter the building by key/another pass code at the door to ensure that not just anyone could come in. Then to your practice room where each room would have their own specific key to enter.
(basically it is like an apartment building for performing artists).
For the "apartment/studio", which would be roughly 12'x12' some smaller some bigger, the artist/band would be paying a monthly fee of anywhere between $250-$400/month.
Connected to the complex would be a professional recording studio with trained engineers. There would be a promo where however months you rent a room you can accrue recording hours in the studio to help record a demo. ( with an undetermined maximum amount of hours ).
Also, the studio would be open to booking time for a competitive rate to record and this is also open to the public.
*There would be a secure door that connects to the complex as to keep the public from entering*
On the other side of the complex would be a media room. Where, if bands/artists have not done so already, you can create a web page or some kind of artist account to get your music out to the world. This space is a "media space" and would also provide a conference room, lounge area for people to meet and network with each other. (vending machines and possible small food stands in mind.)

In the same gated community, there would be a live sound stage to record music videos or live performances (i.e. cd release parties, small venue shows, etc.).
***This would be open by appointment only and is not connected to the complex/studio for security reasons. However, this is still inside the gated community***
This would all be accessible through this one studio provider and the bands/artists who have a room would most likely have seniority over privileges in the facility.
So that is the idea. Again, I welcome all comments and if you feel like rating this idea 1-5 (1 being not a good idea at all, 5 being a great idea) I would appreciate that as well.
Thank you!
