Born and raised in the city of pico rivera, Big Sparks began writing lyrics at the age of 14. By 15 years old, he (along with his life long road dog L.Y.M.E) put together a d.j. system and began recording tape deck tracks wich were passed out to high school friends and peers alike. At 16 he was well on his way performing at neighborhood parties and battling it out with the likes of local talent such as latin lover and m.c. fatboy. By 17 he was in constant venues competing with everybody from the latin alliance (mark-ski) to former members of s.c.c and Ice T's Rhyme Syndicate. Unfortunately at the age of 18, Big Sparks (due to his gang associated lifestyle) wound up putting the mic on hold and started what would seem to be an endless rotation of prison terms as well as parole violations. What seemed to be a stall in his efforts to record, turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
