Vicinity is a Progressive Rock/Metal band situated in Trondheim, Norway. In October 2006 Kim-Marius (guitar) met Kristian (bass) and Frode (drums) and they formed a band. They started to rehearse and played a few cover songs from famous bands like Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Dream Theater.
In March 2007 they found a great vocalist in Alex (after having several auditions with various vocalists). They wrote a couple of songs together and in June 2007 they recorded a demo consisting of three tracks with a total running time of twenty-one minutes. The demo was recorded at Skansen Lydstudio in Trondheim June 15-17.
With a vast variety of inspirational (musical that is) sources they strive to create music they can truly call their own. Their music consists of odd-metered time structures, intricate and speedy riffs and lots of melody.
Vicinity are currently writing new material and plans to record an EP during the summer of 2008.

The demo was recorded at Skansen Lydstudio in Trondheim June 15-17. Though Alex live in Oslo at the current time, they still play concerts with him as lead vocalist.
