Bio

Vanessa Conde was born in Washington Heights New York City on October 24th 1973. Her mother, also a singer, constantly encouraged her daughter's talent since she caught her singing into a hairbrush. Vanessa first attended Westminter Choir College majoring in Vocal Performance then finished up at Montclair State University. While in college, she sang the operatic lead roles in Carmen, Le Nozze Di Figaro, and The Old Maid & A Thief. Her voice teacher Mr. Edward Pierson, was one of the first African American baritones at the New York City Opera. Her vocal training lends itself to learn and master all different types of genres. She is committed to the cause of helping others and continuing to grow as a person and ARTIST by doing so. Detour Records was a stepping stone for Vanessa as they remixed her dance single "For You" and the Debbie Boone classic "You Light Up My Life". The president of Detour Records Gerald J. Godbout was impressed by Vanessa's vocal power and melodious sound. He was determined to keep Vanessa's vocals in tact. Through Detour's efforts, Vanessa also performed at Club Ozone in Miami to a max. cap. audience of 1100 clubgoers. Vanessa is now working towards her first EP CD to be able to present to record labels. She is currently working on the first single called "Five Lies"; a song about how negative forces can be easily disguised in positive things. This can range from false love to addiction and abuse.
