A rockin' four piece roots rock band from Madison, WI, The Midwesterners play a mix of rockin' original songs, interspersed with covers by greats like Hank Williams and George Jones. Formed by Richard Wiegel in 1991, the band includes Mark Haines on drums, who engineered on Son Volt's Straightaways and also produced Rainer Maria, a band whose record made it onto Spin Magazines top 20 list, Dennis Reifsteck, a stand-up bass player in the doghouse style of music and leader of The Swing Crew, and Frank Anderson, a fly by the seat of your pants steel guitar player. Both Midwesterner albums contain rockin' original songs by Richard Wiegel.
