The Lights Ahead are a 3-piece rock band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that make cinematic, experimental pop songs. Comprised of singer//multi-instrumentalist Jon Zebraskey, guitarist Josh Shapiro, and drummer Jay Fanelli, the band¹s influences include Radiohead, Doves, Wilco, Interpol, Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Pulp, DJ Shadow and Boards of Canada.
The band has released one EP, a 3-track disc entitled But I Knew God Was Listening to Me, and will release a follow-up EP in early 2004. Since forming in September 2003, the band has already started attracting large crowds at major venues around the city and won a competition that gave them the opportunity to open for a national act at the University of Pittsburgh¹s Fall Fest. The Lights Ahead hope to finalize their lineup as a 5-piece in the near future, and expand to playing more shows around the region and the U.S.
