A new indie band currently rehearsing for sping gigs around London.

The general theme running through the songs is that of survival in the city, of how hard it is to get on, and how nice it would be to escape. the difference is the viewpoint. This is music for people with brains, stuck in office jobs. It's not from the street. It's music for people who dream of something better.

The result is a concentrated, honest and unique viewpoint, sung with distinctly English voicing and sensibility.

English, smart, wistful, funny, The flease is a celebration of all that's heartfelt and true.

Bio

Formed in 1999 by a bunch of lads working at the same advertising agency, Ruocco has evolved into an energetic five piece ensemble, continuing to develop while the band members moved onto other jobs. Following their success at the NABS Battle of the Bands in October 2001, where they won first prize for best original song for "Shine On", they decided it was time to give what their growing fan base, and the band themselves, deserved: a full length album containing some of their best tracks, both new and old. Over nine months of independent recording at a small but well equipped studio in Tottenham, North London, the album "Too Hip For The Room" was recorded. After receiving approval from The Talent Scout for the album, Ruocco were offered the chance to perform at Talent Scout's main London venue: Sound. Subsequently, "Too Hip For The Room" was released in front of a packed out crowd at the club in Leicester Square on 13th June 2002 and the band has received nothing but enthusiasm for a fantastic end product. There is no doubt in their minds that they would do it again, despite the hard work, late nights, numerous calls to the local pizza delivery boy and trips to the all night petrol station at 12.30am. Ruocco are back at venues in London now with new material being added to every new show.
