The Concept's Bio

Around the beginning of 2006, three friends sat down, just goofing off, and wrote a few songs. Then, in April 2006, those three friends decided to start a band. Together, Mike, Ross, and Dave make up The Concept, a pop/punk band from Charleston, West Virginia.

After forming our band, we created a Myspace.com page to get more exposure. Then, we began playing some open-mic nights at a local bar in downtown Charleston. Since then, we have over 3,000 friends and almost 10,000 plays on Myspace.com, and we have played in some of the best bars/venues in the Charleston area.

We have recorded a few songs already and are working on recording a couple more for our EP.

Some of our influences include Blink 182, NOFX, Tom Petty, The Clash, Mike Jones, Kelly Clarkson, and Johnny Cash. We have some very different influences, but we like to keep our music original.

Our band consists of Mike Withrow on guitar and vocals, Ross Anderson on drums, and Dave Cantrell on bass.
