The Band

TAWNEY'S DREAM:
consists of Sandy and Don Smith, Sandy's stage name is Tawney Wise. Both from South-east England. They met and have been working together as a duo since 1998. Sandy was previously singing in a Country bánd in Germany on the American Club Circuit for many years. After returning to the UK she performed as a solo artist on The South coast of England in hotels and clubs. She has written many songs since her early teens , 30 as yet are unpublished. 10 have been already recorded on an independent label. As she plays rhythm guitar, she decided she wanted to play reál music instead of singing over backing tapes. This is where she met and teamed up with her now, husband Don Smith. Together they have played in many different locations in and around the North and South England in clubs, pubs, hotels and on functions. They also spent a year in the South of Spain where they played to British expats and Spanish. Everybody found them very entertaining and they gained a fanbase that came repeatedly to see and hear them. They were very popular. They now live in South Hungary where they play the odd gig (when they can find them) and are concentrating more on recording all the songs which have been written over the years.
Don plays lead guitar and does backing vocals. Before he met Sandy, he was a bassplayer in various bands which covered all areas of music, pop, country, blues, and rock. His main tendency is towards rock'n roll. He also played in a Jamaicán Steel Band.
TAWNEY'S DREAM plays mainly 70's and 80's and somé originals in their own style which is influenced by their different musical backgrounds. The fusion is full of energy and is very lively, and can also be performed with a basic rhythm section.
The first three songs we are sending in a country rock style, were recorded on our own Portastudio and gives you an idea of our sound. We intend to get all the songs recorded and send them off to you, in the hope that at least one will be of use to somé major artist or, evén better, for ourselves.
