Steven LeBeau is a Palo Alto-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. While he listens to many different kinds of music, his biggest influences are XTC, Sparks (the stuff they did on Island) the Kinks, Rockpile, Todd Rundgren, Buddy Holly, Blur, and Pulp.

Prior to going solo, Steven played drums, keyboards, _and_ bass (!) in the NorCal surf-pop band Drifting Sand. As part of his year-long tenure with the band he got the opportunity to open for Butterfly Boucher, Fastball, and Nancy Sinatra.

Biggest claim to fame (so far): "I produced a cover of the Beach Boys' 'Surf's Up' for Drifting Sand which has received airplay on 'Rodney on the ROQ' on KROQ in Los Angeles. And since it was initially aired they've received requests to replay the song (which they have!)."
