Biography
Starr Saunders (lead singer and lyricist) was in the pop/punk/rock Bay Area-based band NONSENSE for a year and half prior to forming "The Starr Saunders Project". In NONSENSE she gained wonderful experience writing with the band and performing all over the Bay Area and in Los Angeles; however she knew that this particular style was not where she wanted to end up musically, so in May of 2004 she left NONSENSE to pursue other styles of music and focus on her solo effort. A couple months later, she and her friend Sandy Small (now the guitar player for "The Starr Saunders Project" and former bassist for NONSENSE) got together to try and collaborate on some music just to jam for fun and to see "what music would flow"...the musical chemistry that "flowed" was undeniable. In that first evening they put together a song called "I Could Ruin You" which had so many of those instant magical musical moments where it felt like the song wrote itself; that song became one of the many that would be the first step in "The Starr Saunders Project".

Currently they are rippling out among the local scene performing at live venues throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Other shows are lining up throughout California and the West Coast with plans to keep up the momentum and keep on spreading!

There has been quite a buzz starting about key tracks such as "I Could Ruin You", "This Is Not My Time" and "No Return". "I Could Ruin You" is getting regular airplay in Hawaii on WILD 105 - KPMW 105.5 FM and several other public and independent radio stations. The stations receive calls about the song every time it plays.

What makes this particular project so unique is the speed with which all of the songs and everything have come together--within only five months of working together as a songwriting team, Starr Saunders and Sandy Small have come up with an 8-song independent CD that only took three days to record! The result is that of a CD that one would think took months in the studio. If this was they can do in such a short amount of time imagine the potential of what lies ahead!

"At the end of the day I believe that music is all about the connection and what you feel....so please take a listen....I hope you connect to what you hear....and if you do than hopefully you will stick around awhile and join with me on this musical journey!!! Remember we all have the ability and deserve to fly!!!

Starr, You are a Shining Star! Loved all three of your current works. Always makes me happy to find someone who writes better songs than me! Come and join me so I can lead you to the Top 10, were I live for reasons I cannot understand. Youth never dies in Music, my dear. We may get older, but we write better songs as we go on. Cheers from the City of Love! - St. Nick
